Masters week

I am going with John Rahm to win it

My dark horse is Russell Henley. Don't count out a guy with a fire hot putter.

Has the ball striking but his inconsistent putting hurts him, especially at Augusta.
sorry, but I have ulterior motives

I like Matsuyama and FIGJAM this week.

Sleeper is Emiliano Grillo.

I never liked Phil. I really have no evidence to back up my feelings, but he always seemed insincere and fake to me. He plays that course well at times. I won't be rooting for him.

TW made a lot of people millionaires. He completely changed the template of the compensation structure of professional golf.

he also "built" a shit-ton of courses, sold a shit-ton of equipment, and gained the TV networks a shit-ton of new viewers. almost a 1 to 1 comparison of what MJ did for a troubled NBA in the 80's.

Yes he did. Unbelievable wealth and one of the best golf careers in the history of the game. That karma...it's a b****.

But not the best which was his goal, and the goal of all TW fans when he was up and coming. The guy is a sack of shit.

Tiger is not a great human being but if social media was around when Arnie was the top dog on tour he wouldn't have been as beloved as he was. Palmer was a legendary poon hound.

Can't have it both ways pal. Jack is the best to play the game, the record speaks for itself

Of course you can if you're able to look beyond a single stat.

Tiger's highs were way higher than anything Jack reached: Seven majors in the span of 11 starts; dominating the field at Augusta and St. Andrews; a legendary cuts-made streak; more overall PGA wins than Jack; the most seasons winning five or more times in tour history; a 25% winning percentage compared to Jack's 12% - just to name a few. Tiger's amateur career is in a league of it's own as well.

By the way, Tiger is 41. I understand his back is a mess and his game is in shambles but if he ever gets those two things in order he has upwards of 35 major starts to catch Jack - who we all know won the Master's at age 46.

I'm going with Speith. Day as my darkhorse.

If you've never been, I was amazed how open the place is. Us amateurs can hit it around all day and not get into much trouble. Long but open. It's more hilly on some holes than it appears on TV as well.

He's actually built very few courses........All the rest, true.....Changed the game.

i didn't mean he literally built, funded, oversaw, authorized the construction of golf courses...

the number of golf courses grew by 40% (more than 4,500 new courses) from 1986 to 2005. for the last 8 years the number of courses closed has exceeded the number of new courses. Tiger's last Major was in 2008. 9 years ago...

Gotcha.......However, the golf course collapse (closings) was going to happen whether Tiger remained on top or not.......Golf course developers over-read the market. The 2008-2009 economy had as much to do with the fall in courses than anything. Positive economy or not, developers over built.

9 hole courses and Par 3 courses would have been the better answer......TopGolf has certainly hit on a pretty great idea.....If you're ever near one. check it out.

On the Tiger vs Jack front........

As far as longevity goes it's obviously Jack by a landslide.......23 years between Masters victories, 18 years between US Opens. Jack admittedly put less emphasis on non-majors and designed his entire schedule around the majors......and to his credit, his family.

Tiger for the short term was the greatest player we have ever seen.....From 1999 to 2009 he was the most dominant golfer ever.

I'm a big tennis fan too and this is similar to the ongoing Federer vs Nadal debate.
