Trump called out by some Christians for using ‘Lord’s name in vain’ at fiery NC rally

The controversial “send her back” crowd chant at President Donald Trump’s North Carolina rally may have gotten all the headlines, but some Christians are grumbling over something most of the media completely ignored.

Trump cursed, and it was not just a few vulgarities. He took the Lord’s name in vain.

Twice.

Boasting about breaking your promise to god by repeatedly cheating on wives? Awesome.
Promoting violence against peaceful demonstrators? No problem.
Bragging about sexually assaulting strangers? Cute.
Ignoring many biblical teachings? Who cares.

But saying “Jesus” or “Christ?” Condemn him!

I heard that and just rolled my eyes because Frankie Graham and those of his ilk will give him a pass for that just as they have on the list rifle mentioned above

I heard another of the dumb ass trump things too. He said more things will have these FOUR beautiful words, “made in America”

The comments there are gold....Christians giving different theories as to what God's name really is, in an attempt to rationalize the Choice of Evangelicals.

"Well, God's name really isn't God, it's (insert your favorite theory). So it's cool."

And here's the best excuse:

"I was told by a clergyman that taking the "Lord's name in vain" means saying you believe when you really don't. I never heard the President say anything like that."

But saying “Jesus” or “Christ?” Condemn him!

It's worse than that. He dropped the big GD*. At least this got a reaction from a few supporters, unlike when dropped F bombs at rallies. And that's been my experience with Southern Baptists, the GD is worse than the F bomb.

Of course it is telling that it sounds like most in attendance laughed...but they will be at Sunday service.
