Meh, F**k it

Another seven points were, at least substantially, due to the defense giving the offense the ball in Appy territory.
How is this possible? I thought our offense wasn’t scoring efficiently?
Marine's argument isn't that Marshall's offense can't move the ball, which is what your "top 50 offense overall" comment is based on.
I didn’t originally introduce offensive rankings in the discussion. Marine was actually using it to support his argument. I stand by my comment. A top 50 offense…the horror. The defense needs to play better.

So if a baseball player hits one home run all season, that makes him a home run hitter? Nope. Likewise, an offense that takes advantage of good field position to score a TD one time doesn’t suddenly make it an efficient offense.

It doesn’t matter who introduced it. You used it for your argument. And in the context of what Marine was arguing, it has no relevance in your attempt.

And again, Marine’s point wasn’t that the offense sucks. His point was that the offense has struggled to score in the red zone. And based on the fvcking numbers that YOU presented, unbeknownst to you, Marine’s claim was entirely accurate.

Why are you even trying to argue against this? You are wrong. Your own stats proved Marine’s point that you were trying to argue against. I get it. You thought that 70% - 80% was a good number. But it’s not. In fact, it’s poor.

The offense doesn’t suck. It moves the ball. But when it comes to red zone scoring, which was Marine’s point, it has done poorly.

If by “liar” you mean “mean man who says things that are true, but I wish were not” then go with that.

You look foolish.

What is a good #?

For scoring (as opposed to just TDs)? Great would be 90%+. Good is probably the higher 80s. Anything in the 70s is struggling.

You can even do it in your head. Bad red zone offenses will score a TD half of the time they get in the red zone. So out of 10 trips, that means 5 TDs. That leaves 5 other trips to account for turnovers (including on downs or a half expiring) and missed field goals. Out of those 5 trips, even if you turn it over 1 out of the 5 and miss a field goal 1 out of the other 4, you’re still at 80% scoring . . . after doing a bad job scoring TDs.

So anything in the low 80s and lower is really struggling.

What do you think the issue is? Play calling or execution? To me I think it’s a bit on Cramsey and on Wells

So you wish you had never mentioned Snyder. Got it.
No, I had been assuming you were just trolling, but I now think I am wrong and you really are that stupid.

YOU mentioned the previous coach IN COMPARISON TO THE CURRENT COACH. I pointed out that IMHO, this was unacceptable and this coach, currently 0-2 vs. Div I-A team likely to win a game this year, should be judged on his OWN MERITS.

In a discussion of firing the current coach, I, correctly, stated that no coach short of an obvious and unarguable incompetence, such as that exhibited by a long ago coach, deserves to be fired after one year, lets not three legitimate games. I made no comparisons between the two, I simply used this historical figure to illustrate the very high bar to first year dismissals. Abject incompetence, such as that exhibited by Snyder. Had I been speaking to a different audience, I could have used other historic examples.

If you are trolling, you lose. If you really are that stupid, stop posting and hit the books

Raleigh!! Good God man! Save yourself! Sammy is a brick wall, & you are playing the role of the tennis ball. No matter how many times you hit the ball, no matter if you hit it perfectly 4 feet off the ground or whether you pop it up 15 feet onto the bricks, the result is the same. That damn ball is coming back at you. The only way to preserve your sanity is to put down your racket, & go to a real tennis court where there's another player willing to give & take. At least then there is a net!! Toodles, Sam.

A brick wall of truth. Absolutely.

You don’t want “give and take”, you want a USPAM like circle jerk. Thumb upping one another’s increasingly delusional statements.

Reality is that this team is 2-2, 1-2 vs. I-A, 0-2 vs. I-A teams likely to win a game this year. Reality is that in the “USA Today Re-Rank” of the 130 teams, ECU is 102nd this week. Reality is that we have a lot of issues, and no amount of childlike faith is going to fix any of this.

You mentioned a past coach (Snyder) when there was no need to do so.

We are discussing THIS YEAR'S team.

Try to live in the present, OK?

It has been explained to you. I am still at a loss to determine if you are just trolling, or really that stupid.

Anyway, OK. I will never mention Suntan Man again.

IF you never mention any other past coaches.

Deal?

Hey - Sam - no quid pro quos are allowed here!
We have had, what, one HFBC plucked since 1990. I relish the thought of Huff getting hired away! Seems to be working out pretty well for App……

So you make the rules? Who knew?

Yeah, lots of P5s are looking for ways to lose to sub 100 ranked teams.
