Men’s basketball - from terrible to a top 4 seed?

Starting a more positive thread for our guys. We take care of business Tuesday & Friday + Ark St loses one of two road games would put us directly into the quarterfinals. Huge week!
🌽 & staff have outperformed almost all predictions this season. Friday’s home finale will be a doubleheader: girls tip @ 6 and guys at 8:30 on ESPNU. Hopefully best attendance of the season for those two.

I am very surprised and pleased with this last road swing. Great job by the team and staff. I said 16 wins before the season. If we win the last two at home, that's 19 regular season wins, that's darn good. Kudos to all.

Corny and staff will have their work cut out for them next year, replacing a boatload of departing seniors and grads.

And I think that is true for Coach Fulk’s squad as well. They get a couple more W’s this week and avoid (I think) 2 rounds of the Royal Rumble in Pcola

I'll eat my crow. I thought they were done for after that early rough patch. What they lack in skill and shooting prowess, they've made up for by being scrappy and defending better. Corny has learned from his early mistakes and a few late- game collapses and they've been much better down the stretch the second half of the season. He's definitely earned another year at the helm, but recruiting is going to have to get a lot better for us to get where we want to be.

Big night! Girls at 6, guys at 9. Both could move up in seeding: guys with a win & an Ark St loss; girls could jump 3-4 spots with a win and expected losses for teams just ahead of them. Natl tv audience on ESPNU…

Corny did well as the season progressed but you hit the nail on the head concerning the future. We have to get better players, they tend to win games more than coaching.

No doubt about that. I have enjoyed the games I have seen this year. They can be a fun watch. But the fact is 13 of the wins have been Q-4 and 3 have been Q-3. No Q-2 or Q-1 wins and only 4 total games vs Q1 or 2. Just no quality wins at all.

Kudos again to the staff and team. May be the best overall game we have played this year. I admit I was wrong, Corny did a really good job this season.

Next year may be a challenge replacing all the experience and scoring
