MU plays at Elon November 17th, winner will play at #4 seed Virginia November 20th.

Sun Belt champion Kentucky is the #1 seed overall and will play the winner of Hofstra @ South Florida.

As a footnote the last ever CUSA champions, FIU, are the #10 seed. FIU will be the lone men’s soccer school left in CUSA and will join the SBC for men’s soccer next year.

FIU has already joined the AAC, and won it actually. UCF will be joining the Sun Belt next season.

No one to blame but ourselves... Losing to ODU and then losing to JMU just 5 days after beating them 2-0 were bad losses.

Let's beat Elon and go give UVA hell.
If not for a bad call we would have a win over the overall top seed. They have us seeded around 45th….. really?

I agree with that. We deserved better in that regard.

If we play fast and with a sense of urgency, we can make a run in the tourney. Gotta get some kids healthy and rested legs.

If my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle... We are 35th in RPI and coming off a bad loss.

It's important to note that the thought we are "seeded around 45th" is not accurate because that's not how the soccer bracket works. After the top 16 are seeded, the rest of the teams are grouped and matchups determined by "geographical proximity." Theoretically, Elon could be the 17 seed and we could be 18 since matchups are based on geography. More realistically, Elon is probably around 29 (like their current RPI) and we are probably around 35 (like our current RPI) which is why we are playing each other.

To be honest, we got into this tournament by a hair. In our eyes we got shafted, but to be honest we're lucky we're in.

We had EVERY opportunity to be where Kentucky is right now. Hell, they served it up to us on a platter.. TWICE.

But, we drew with Costal, collapsed on defense against ODU, lost to JMU after just beating them by missing wide open nets, and drew with GaSt - which in all honesty we should have lost by at least 2.

This team is good.. they are not great - and by no means is that a bad thing. Like I said over in OF, and like @RhinoD mentioned, we are spoiled with Grassie. After 2020 we expect greatness and national championships every year, but obviously that's not realistic.

More than anything I think this team has great potential to be really, really special next year - especially if Bell returns. Have to remember, half this team is new and it takes some time to gel. Look at the early years of Jamil, Vitor, Milo, Max, etc.

On paper, we're in the best region we could be playing in.

Agree with this. I actually thought we had a greater likelihood of not being selected because we haven't play well down the stretch. Glad we are getting the opportunity.

I’m surprised we made it in. If had not won a national championship recently we are probably left out.

We've garnered A LOT of national respect, and it's here to stay until we have back-to-back absolutely HORRIBLE seasons.

The United Soccer Coaches Poll which is soccer's version of the AP and is compiled of coaches who vote, most of which are coaching in this tournament still look at us as a Top 10 team despite our somewhat fall. Hence our #9 ranking.

Even last year when we embarrassingly face planted we were still looked at as Top 15.
