Another one of the greats gone. Figured he was about next. Hell, I don't know if there are any great ones left now. Might have been the last living one.

A complicated man, that was Merle. It's probably a good thing his record company wouldn't release "Irma Jackson", or you would instead remember him as a n!gger lover. But that's why Merle was great, he wrote as he saw things and not as what the radio wanted to play. He just sang the world as he saw it. You know it was real because even the hippies loved "Okie from Muskogee"
