Old Dominion will be without one of its top offensive players when the Monarchs travel to Marshall Saturday for their Conference USA football opener.
Wide receiver David Washington will miss the game with a concussion, ODU coach Bobby Wilder said on his radio show Thursday night.
Washington is being held out as a precaution, Wilder said. ODU has strict guidelines on when a player can return from concussion, but the loss of Washington was unexpected, because he practiced much of this week.
The junior from Raleigh, N.C. is one of ODU's best athletes. But he's been hampered with an ankle injury and is fourth on the team in receiving with seven catches for 65 yards and a touchdown...
