The MLB draft is a strange, strange thing. Guys taken in rounds 4-10 are often drafted because they’ll demand almost no signing bonus; which teams can then use on other players picked earlier in the draft.

Guys taken in rounds 11-20, which is a different bonus pool from rounds 1-10, will likely command much higher signing bonuses (most at $125K).
