More new conference talk

I have questions for rifle. Did your coaching skills get NDSU to the level that they currently are? How many of their players have you recruited/coached?

Why do you allow your obsession with me to try and take over every thread while at the same time making you look like a moron?

muthed, you are letting your personal feelings get in the way of solid analysis by #2.
Whether Rifle has coached or will coach at the upper FCS level has nothing to do whatsoever with his evidence based (and non-offensive) argument regarding NDSU. In my view Rifle's correct.

I wouldn't hold my breath on monies increasing. They may, but I wouldn't bet on it based on the current situation.

No doubt Mike is dipping into savings, wouldn't shock me. I doubt the field is built for another 3-4 years, until we get all the funds in pocket from private donations. jmho
Something interesting to watch is will Marshall or other schools have the money to honor the 6th year scholarship funds? If all of this years seniors want to come back them Marshall has to foot that bill. Yes the NCAA says they can come back but no one has discussed can the schools pay for the cost. crazy times

It was reported on Tailgate central that an NFL team called Shepherd to see if Bagent was coming out early. Sitting out has kids thinking about their future that is for sure
Dude.

Please stop.

I don't wish any ill-will towards Bagent and for his sake I hope he makes the NFL; but he literally has NOTHING to do with this topic or anything else discussed on HN. I'm not going to delete your post (mostly because I want you to see mine) but please stay on topic and keep Bagent's name off my boards. This is a good thread with good discussion and I'm not going to allow you to derail it. Last warning.

Obviously we don't know how it will play out but if baseball and softball is any indication then the cost may not be to great.
Not many of either of those athletes chose to return this year.
We will know very soon if basketball will get the same exemption. The vote I believe is next week

Agree, I would suspect the minor sport athletes will move on IF they have their degree and no intention of going to grad school at MU. Most in those sports know that there is no money to be made in the sport after they graduate; unlike football and men's b'ball - those athletes may have a chance.

it is part of the discussion. The issue is will kids be staying or going pro/leaving, and what is the overall impact to schools, finance's, and how it changes college athletics. It seems these finance's very well may drive conference movement. Finance's may also play a part in deciding who returns has a 6th year senior.

The other thing is if kids stay a 6th year does the NFL talent pool get smaller?

I would assume that even in football there will not be many 6th year kids returning... If you already have your degree, and have no aspirations/delusions of playing in the NFL, then there isn't much reason to come back for another year of physical toll.

And if yove been here 5 years and no NFL entities have shown interest, I doubt one more year would make much 9f a difference

I had to make several phone calls, including working out TV deals, but I've come up with C-USA, Version IV

C-USA South
Florida Atlantic
Louisiana Tech
Georgia Southern
Alabama-Birmingham
Troy
Southern Mississippi
Louisiana
Arkansas State

C- USA North
Western Kentucky
Army
Liberty
East Carolina
Marshall
Appalachian State
Ohio U
Middle Tennessee State

I feel like all three of those institutions would consider the move forcible rape.
Absolutely. None of those 3 would leave where they are for a new CUSA.
Army and ECU would be taking a financial cut and Ohio has no desire to leave the MAC. The have no pressure to go any higher than they are.

Is that the really good QB from the panhandle who Doc refused to even send a mailer to?
