Mormon Church Drops Affiliation With Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts will be splinter of itself in 10-20 years. When are these idiot companies and organizations going to learn?

The Scouts are hemorrhaging members. From what I have read they are half of what they were 40 years ago.Today they have about 2.3 million young men in their ranks. Of course this is true of many institutions including Civic clubs and churches. This may pump up their numbers in the short term some but until they figure out a way to compete with a society that has 101 options available they will still decline long term IMO.

Biggest problem with the Boy Scouts is that instead of just staying the course and being who they are (an organization that teaches boys outdoor stuff and self-control) they tried to be all things to all men (and women) and died the death of mission creep.

Just as an fyi to those looking for other options Trail Life is not much better.

I thought they had all but dropped the BSA years ago.
