Marshall University Sports Medicine Institute scheduled to open

Marshall University’s new Sports Medicine Institute, described by MU Athletic Director Mike Hamrick as “just amazing,” is scheduled to open Monday, July 13.

Located at 2211 3rd Ave., adjacent to Joan C. Edwards Stadium, the institute is a joint venture by Marshall Athletics, Marshall Health, Marshall Orthopedics and Cabell Huntington Hospital. Its collaborative approach makes the institute unique, says Tom Belmaggio, MU’s longtime head athletic trainer who now has a new title as “sports medicine program coordinator.”
