Has anybody been paying attention to Nancy Pelosi over the last few months (or decade)? It would be one thing to say she's just having senior moments, but she still holds quite a bit of sway in the Democrat party. And she's had so many gaffes/breakdowns recently that I bet even Biden is concerned for her.

Anyway, shortly after criticizing Trump's mental health on Morning Joe, she then referred to Trump as "President Bush" & forgot what day it was. This wouldn't be so bad but she's been doing it A LOT over the last few months. And aide had to step in & hand a note to let her know she confused the two yet again.

In the same interview, she then said about Trump's mental health "The fact is that this is hopefully not reparable - he's the President." Scarborough had to correct her that she meant hopefully it is reparable.

These people are old and feeble. Without being made up for TV and all, they're just like these old people at the store. Parked in handicap spots, moving like molasses. Probably takes them all day to go in and get their Fixodent.

They just opened a new Kroger here. It's so big and so good. I think it's too big for old, slow and fat slugs. They'll have to keep going to the other shitty little run down Krogers around here while me and a bunch of bony snobs who walk real fast will enjoy this big, fancy new one.

I really have to quit or I'm going to get broken legs and flat tires. Just too much basking in the glory.

Between her and McCain this week, I wonder if some Senators have had a stroke.

The McCain stuff was awkward to see the first time but concerning upon rewatching it. Pelosi was already a space cadet before she started exhibiting her latest behavior. Last month she criticized Trump for not visiting countries in alphabetical order. Our political system really does want every last once of fundraising blood from these turnips. I've often wondered if the DNC paid for that rolling hospital bed/van Hillary campaigned in.

McCain needs to follow Reid into hibernation. Keep Nancy for the tear factor. Would be nice for Rev Al to make a comeback. Maxine can't hold a candle to the Reverend. She tries hard though. Honestly, she is one my favorites to hear speak.

Feeling a little guilty after posting the meme...I think it's fair to mention that no matter what your politics are, if this is a result of early stages of dementia, you have to be concerned for him. If I was one of his advisors or on his staff, I would make sure that he had the questions in front of him. If he's slipping a little, then being prepared can make the difference of looking in control or having to explain the embarrassment that he just experienced(he said he stayed up late watching baseball).

That also applies for Trump as well. Why in the world does he allow tweets to go out unchecked for grammar and syntax as well as the facts being checked? Why would he ever wing a speech? Why would he ever not have a prepared set of talking points when in question and answer situations? He could staff an aide to eliminate all of the embarrassing things he's said.

I've watched enough West Wing to know how important a speech writer is to the presidents or politician's ability to communicate effectively. ;)

Why would he ever wing a speech?

Probably because they're wastes of time.

Why would he ever even have a speech? Why does anyone? If you want to say something, just say it. This here's about the only speech I can think of that was ever any good...

Why would anyone have a speech written out? Because most people, even brilliant people can't just wing it, and the majority of people can't keep it going just from bullet points. You've written before about the art of bullshit. It really is an art when you can bullshit AND say something intelligent. Bill Clinton was fvcking great at this. That's why most of these jokers seed "town hall" crowds with questions or just don't take questions. At best most will look stupid, and at worst half will show they really are stupid.

Wise will know this...Hunter Thompson said the best speech he ever heard was by Jimmy Carter, and Carter actually announced he was trashing his notes and just going to wing it. Which is awesome if you can get away with it. Most people just are not good at extemporaneous speaking, and of course even fewer are smart enough to be a goddamn US Navy nuclear engineer.
