I wonder if he had an incentive in his contract before for winning the Natty? I know most coaches do.

I am not particularly plugged in, but I heard it was agreed to in principle prior to the national championship game. It's a good contract that puts him in league with the highest paid college coaches in the country, which he should be. It is still a very realistic number, especially if you talk about comparing it to football or basketball. We can compete in this area.

This is great news! He loves the community, HerdNation loves him & the money gets better. Hopefully they write in the incentives to match the accomplishments...

If you can find a way to fit it in your budget, go do your part and join the Corner Kick Club! We need as much monetary support as we can muster up! You get a nice Nike Dri Fit pull over with the shield on it!

anybody have a clue what he is currently making? What is the average salary of a D1 soccer coach, I have no idea.

I doubt there is such a disparity like how it is in hoops and football where say an SEC/Big10 coach is making 3x-5x what a CUSA coach is.

He’s already paid a very competitive salary of $122,000. I have a feeling though he’s going to be offered something that puts him up with the elites of college soccer.

Someone mentioned 180K going forward. Not sure if that’s accurate but if so, that’s a nice increase. His wife works at Marshall as well.

Bringing in together probably $220,000 pre tax in Huntington, a place his family loves is not bad at all. Not including probably incentives, provided car, ect.

Reward the man... I don't care about how cheap it is to live in Huntington, or how we employ his wife as well, or how much he enjoys it here... He brought a national championship to Marshall University. Average out the top 25 NCAA soccer coach salaries in the country and give it to him for the next five years. His resume speaks for itself, he has built a top-25 program with national recognition and should be a top-25 paid coach.

Maryland's coach makes north of $600K. A few years ago, there were about a dozen men's soccer coaches who were making $300+.

Rumored that he has been approved for a five year deal at $375K per.
Competitive salary

I was just quoting your last post guessing it would be around $250,000. Awesome to hear that it could possibly be more.

I'm blown away by his new reported contract. He deserves it for sure. Hope he stays for a long long time and builds a dynasty.

Wonder how Dan Dan feels today knowing he only makes slightly more than the soccer coach and usually when he asks for something for his program from Hammy its silence on the other end?

I thought dan made just north of 200k??

I say herd community, because the following they had in Cary was simply amazing, and gave the Herd what felt like a home field advantage.
I’m guessing we’d have that same home field advantage just about anyplace in the world, because you know, 10 of 11 starters . . .

When it comes to finance and money meetings at MU they are all emergencies.
Also, will they move home games to JCE stadium? They’re going to need a lot more paying customers at home games than you can shoe horn into the Highlawn field to help pay that contract.

I just read this post again, after damn near drowning on the 3rd happy hour pint. 10 of 11? This sounds racist to me. I hate racist posts.

Maybe if he actually built on the success of winninng a game in the NCAA tournament, he would.
Grassie actually improved the team the following year of the Sweet 16.

No. It's be easier to just expand with bleachers.
It took Senior Night to have a really packed house of 2,000 or so in 2019. But I do think potential seating expansion is definitely a focus.

Better be getting some fans at Hoops. We've had "Jam The Cam." Let's do "Stuff The Hoops."
