Hmmm…

“Fox News has learned that the truck used in the attack had a Texas license plate, and that it was tracked crossing the southern border into the U.S. at Eagle Pass, Texas, two days prior to the attack.”
The FBI seems to be clueless. The only crimes they prevent or solve now are on the TV show.

At least now they are saying it's a terrorist attack. Earlier they was saying they had no proof. Trump mentioned that it might had to do something with south amiercan gangs (on truth). He should be getting security briefings. He should know.

Hmmm…

“Fox News has learned that the truck used in the attack had a Texas license plate, and that it was tracked crossing the southern border into the U.S. at Eagle Pass, Texas, two days prior to the attack.”
It is being reported that the vehicle was rented.

Suspect's car had ISIS flag, sources say
11 a.m. - The suspect accused of plowing a truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street is 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, according to a law enforcement source.

The source said he was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck.

The suspect was an American citizen and was in the army reserves

Hmmm...

Must be a far-right terrorist then...

Sounds like it's another one of those darn conspiracy theories...

"In a court document filed as part of his divorce proceedings in 2022, Jabbar disclosed he worked for accounting firm Deloitte at the time and earned around $120,000 a year, according to The New York Times—though the filing also reportedly mentioned late home payments and credit card debt. The Times also reported that Jabbar was charged with two minor crimes in 2002 and 2005—first for misdemeanor theft in Katy, Texas—near Houston—and later for driving with an invalid license."

Hmmm....

Maybe Fux will learn to not pass along rumors/actual bullshit that they see on Xitter.

On the flip side, I imagine this is not the kind of publicity Turo wanted.

Your "libertarian" bias has really affected your ability to think or process any information.

The report you are referring to came from a Fox station in Houston and it said the truck crossed the US-Mexico border in NOVEMBER...

The vehicle is licensed in Houston and rented there as well, the last known address of the perpetrator.

Meanwhile nary a mention from you of how bad the initial FBI reports were... But "Fux" news...

I keep thinking there might be a liberal or a "libertarian" here that might somehow be able to come up with a cogent position or response but like a unicorn one hasn't appeared yet... But please keep trying...

The drive was American born. The border may not have anything to do with it

He evidently identifies more with foreign terrorists than traditional American values.

There are some alleged accomplices.

We have imported radicals.

We have porous borders.

We don't properly vet legal immigrants much less the illegal ones.

Don't be so quick to defend or dismiss the border aspect.

Don't be so quick to assume they came through an obviously porous border. Let the investigation play out is all I'm saying before we start blaming people for this or that political football that you want to spike.

I did nothing of the sort. You are the one that seemingly defends or dismisses any reference to a position that runs counter to yours as a conspiracy theory.

Two simple questions -

1. Do you or do you not think our recent immigration system is broken?

2. With the unprecedented numbers of recent immigrants do you think there is a significant likelihood of terrorists being included in those numbers?

Yes to both but just because those two things are true doesn't mean these terrorist came through the border. Those two things may or may not be related and currently we don't know is all I'm saying. They are two completely separate conversations currently until we have more information

Here's a couple of things I'm sure of.

The government and the media has been telling us that homegrown right-wing extremists are the greatest terrorist threat.

This terrorist may have been US born but his apparent allegiances are anything but homegrown and right-wing.

Usually you look for the fire to extinguish where the smoke is coming from.

All I know is a few months ago I went in depth on here about this shit and what likely going yo happen. Americans don't give a damn and don't pay attention. Intelligence reports we telling us for awhile.

I gave info. Numbers. Where it was coming from and being directed from. By the way your govt is sending money thar is being back funneled to terrorist groups in Afghanistan and other places. AL QAEDA is as strong as ever. The Ben Laden clan is operating again.

Oh the ****ing border has been wide open for a few years and this clown being in the military is not a surprise. So while they were fabricating the problem with white wing extremism in the ranks these DEI types and all that bullshit is no surprise.

So i will go back to watching the Fleas play Ohio State. Go back and read my posts about this shit.

I don't know why it is so hard for so many not to see that...

Hmmm...

So you don't see the connection between foreign anti-US ideologies and terrorist attacks on US soil by adherents to those foreign anti-US ideologies?
I see there may be a connection and I see there may not. I don’t assume anything until the facts come out.

I see there may be a connection and I see there may not. I don’t assume anything until the facts come out.

Nor have I. I simply acknowledge the likelihood.

Funny that the genesis of this thread is the FBI Agent in Charge seemingly immediately dismissed the potential terrorist aspect of the attack.

But since you assume I am biased and project you are unbiased, let me present two or three scenarios to you.

Do jilted lovers run a car down a crowded street to kill the object of their desire?

Or do terrorists have this very play in their playbook? I think we've seen it before.

If a eyewitness in California says a murder suspect is a 5'8" Hispanic male do you go interview a 6'5" Irish-American in Boston?

There's an old common-sense adage about where there's smoke there's fire. I miss the days when common-sense was more common.
