has a revenue producing hire generated this kind of excitement amongst the fan base. While it is true that coming out of the wilderness created by Dwight Freeman, we would have been happy about hiring an established Div I HC to rescue a sinking ship, there was just something different about this young, unproven & unknown assistant, an attitude that came through when he talked about his vision to bring back an exciting brand of ball, entertaining and at the same time taking the program higher. I attended a game in his 1st season. I’m walking from the concourse into the Cam, and the crowd is going nuts. A guy looks over to his friend and says: “This is what we’ve been missing!” After 2 seasons, he was hired away, and he went on to a great career.
So it is with Huff. There’s just that something different....THIS is what we’ve been missing these last 5 seasons! Ride the wave.....

We've got a real chance to get the ball rolling. Season ticket deposits are at an all-time high and I would be curious to see BG donations. If this team comes out the gate with their hair on fire and runs through this schedule we might see the Joan rocking like it used to back in the day.

I'd love to start seeing 30k a game this year. I've even seen a fan from Washington State tweet Coach Huff to tell him he bought season tickets. Washington State!

It's times like these I really wish I lived closer to home. Definitely an exciting time. Coach has my full support. Hope to make it to a couple of games this year at least.

We get a coach that has tremendous accolades. Look it up. We have a coach committing himself into the community and sharing. Some like some don't. I'm really confused at our fan base. Maybe you need to step back and really think what you want as a coach before you respond on here. Hell he is doing what most people asked for. He is doing it professionally. He has the accolades. What is their to bitch about? I'm curious at what some of you want. We chose the most qualified candidate to coach our team since Pruitt. Seriously. Even Pruitt had some holes. How did that work out? This guy has no holes. Only negative I really see is Cramsey. But I'm first to say that is Doc's fault. Totally. Look that up also. Cramsey was held back in my opinion in doing what he wanted to do vs. what Doc thought. Give them a chance. If it doesn't work out Cramsey will be gone in a year. To be honest this guy is way over qualified to be our coach. I hope he is only here a couple years. Guess what? WE WIN! Next.....

The OP made no predictions about the on field success of Huff. He is simply making a comparison of the excitement level generated by the hire with what we saw with Donovan. Your cynicism is telling. Although I don’t always agree with where OP stands on issues, this certainly isn’t one of them. He is dead on right about what he says.

This program had fallen into a state of lackluster enthusiasm among the fan base. This is partly because of the wall that was built around the prior program that prevented fans from feeling like they were a part of it. This coach has knocked those walls down, reached out to the community in a meaningful way, and is bringing a level of excitement that has been missing. That’s the only point. Will it equate to more wins? Who knows. But at least the off season is fun again. Get over believing yourself to be the sober thinking realist among a disillusioned fan base and quit attributing things that aren’t even being said in posts in order to sate your belief that you somehow are above the emotional thinking of the fans.
