Anybody have crazy ass hot takes after last night that u need to get out? Well step right up right and tell em. This thread is probably gonna bomb but I’m morbidly curious what some of you think

It was almost the exact opposite of the Kstate game. Wells almost spiked the game away and we should have spiked the ball vs kstate and didn't. However both games ended the exact same way....with an interception to lose. Main difference was we should have never been in a position to lose the ecu game. Still 100% behind Huff and the boys.

Still isn’t as bad as the total beat down and humiliation UC gave us in the Joan a few years ago.
I actually think this game was worse. The talent gap in that game was evident. Especially at QB.

However we controlled this entire game up until everything from play calling to on the field play completely flipped.

Beat downs suck, but losing games you should have won is unacceptable.

Nah, versus Cincy and the UCF bowl game - we literally had no chance, better talent, better coaches. Lord, the 42-0 PASTING by Toledo was worse than this. The Glass Bowl embarrassment was ugly. The Akron losses, losses to BG, Docs losses to WKU, Rice and others. Snides KState debacle, UCF end zone play and loss. The entire 2016 season - the worst in Marshall history. There's plenty of ugliness to go around. lol!

I don't think this is the worst loss in history. However I do see it as worse than UC because we were never going to win that game. Doc let the talent drop too far. This loss is up there because we had the win. All we had to do is play smart and the coaches crapped the bed. There were coaching blunders in the game that are on the Snyder level of ineptitude.

I don't buy all this first time head coach stuff either. Sure there are aspects that he'll have to learn, but he's played and coached in this game long enough that he should have never made the calls he did or had the team as unprepared down the stretch as he did. I keep going back to that onside kick. If a bunch of drunks are yelling what was coming there are zero excuses for anyone on that sideline, in the press box, or on the field to not know.

Yep.

People are looking at this horrid loss from the wrong perspective. You don’t look at this from the prism of bad beats by this or that good team in some past era.

No, MU was outplayed and out coached by a VERY BAD football team coached by a very bad coach who went 4-8 and 3-6 in previous years with two of those wins being vs. I-AAs and two more being Temple and UConn.

This loss hurts because this should have been a walkover win vs. a bad team.

Well - we were favored by 10 pts prior to kickoff, so that wouldn't point to a "walkover". App was favored by (I believe) 35.5 pts over Elon, and won by 35.......that to me was an expected walkover win vs a team in the lower division. ECU, same division as us, having already started 0-2, was really, really motivated to keep fighting, + this is their HC's 3rd season, so he has had time to recruit his own players and install his system. Further, I believe he had very good success @ JMU prior to being hired by the Pirates. + their QB Ahlers is in his 3rd season leading this team, so he has more experience than our guy. Sorry, Sam - your analysis just doesn't hold water. Sounds more like someone who is not a fan of our new HC. Accurate? Go Herd!!!!!

I would. We were expected to win over a very bad team, and failed to get the job done. Should have been a laugher.

You don’t get to go there anymore. Decisions made, true fans have the coach’s back , 100%, until the time to discuss HIS status comes, which will certainly not be before the end of the year, worst case scenario, and 99% certain not to be for several years after that.

Right now, we are off to a horrid start, and looking at a very bad season. Navy should not win a game, NCCU was paid to be here, and ECU looks like a bottom feeder in its league.

That could change. It is early, but it get late quickly.

Whatever happens, have the courtesy and decency to discuss THIS coach and HIS performance.

This stings so bad.... lol
It wasn't so much that he fumbled that still kills me...it was the fact that a cold true FROSH was carrying the ball the begin with on that stage. If we just QB sneaked it into the line 3 times and kicked the FG, WVU couldn't have caught us! I need to get over this!

Posts like this make me so happy you're not in a position to make decisions for MU.

Booker was too small to carry the ball in that situation (why he was moved to WR in 2011) and Ward was on the sideline with cramps. The issue was Tron trying to fight for extra yards instead of going down. That's a hard thing to do in competition, but that's what he should have done.

Tron ran hard in the time he played for us, tough kid...but I will always argue that at that point in the game the clock was our opponent not WVU, 3 QB's sneaks on a running clock and it's game set match....WVU scored the their last TD with no time on the clock, Tron fumble on 1st down. But I need to get past this.
