I think the dem leadership fully understands exactly how this decision will empower Trump but went through with it anyways. The left absolutely operated in a way they did not expect Trump to win a second term. Now, on the way out, they're desperate & making moves like this to try & cover their illegality.
Please elaborate. The optics certainly are more damaging than helpful in convincing the American people Dems aren't corrupt and morally bankrupt.
The majority of American voters can't recognize corruption and moral bankruptcies. Proven by who will be inaugurated today.
There’s a pretty good argument that you can’t plead the fifth if you’ve been pardoned.

He can be stripped of his Special Forces Tab, Ranger tab, and be banned persona non grata which means he is not welcomed at any of his former units. Probably won't happen but it cold. More than likely he will be exposed for what he did or didn't do. The action in the military is going to be swift.
