Please resign after this game

Doc, and by no means accept a bowl bid. This is a joke and a disgrace and he’s lost this program

the boys deserve to play. If you asked me at the beginning of the season that we soils drop our starting QB and make a title one I would think you only see Kelly green. However, doc has proven the law of diminishing returns. Ibest would be just let him finish contract without renewal. Hard to get replacement coaches if you get fired in a year your nominated for coach of the year. I have to thinkHamrick , who I do support, sees the writing and won’t hitch his wagon to Doc.

This is the end of his contract. And from what I’ve seen on the field the last two games and the way we’ve backed out of the Charlotte game, these boys don’t even WANT to play.

This is what happens when there is no expectations. Hell, we backed into this game anyway.
I want Doc to be gone. I was hoping he'd just walk off the field, get in his truck, and never come back, but we did not back into this game. We controlled our fate all season long.

The way this all went down, it doesn't even matter. If we would have played that final game, we would have lost. That's not even debatable.

As I said in a glorious thread last night (that some weak, thin-skinned moderator deleted) John Holliday had a pandemic thrown his way, weakening teams even further, and he STILL COULDN'T WIN.

John Holliday is a garbage coach. Stowers, Perkins, and any other moron who still kisses his ass, are also part of the problem, and need the boot as well.

Two games in a row where the team is flat. Even the announcers observed that the team had no energy or drive, at least until late in the 3rd quarter. That is too late to start playing aggressive football. Something is amiss with the chemistry on this team. This is not the same team that was playing with confidence and motivation early in the season. Hope someone can find out what happened to cause this demise. I also think that it is time for a new regime to take over the program. Start anew. Bring in a young, energetic assistant from a successful program. Let him make it his program.

Starts at the top. If the players aren’t ready to play:
1. The coach didn’t prepare them
2. The coach didn’t see problems and fix them
3. The coach recruited the wrong players

I can see having one game where things go off the rails and you lose one you should have won. But the way we lost to Rice and the way we played against UAB can only be explained by blaming coaching.

The idea the Mike Hamrick needs to resign makes you a stupid person, just FYI.
Have your opinions on Doc, but Hamrick doesn’t only run the football program. He’s done a good job here. You’re all like emotional teenage girls, it’s hilarious

Hamrick continues to keep John on board and will not fire him, regardless of on the field results. His accomplishments are being overshadowed by this refusal to admit Holliday needs to go.

You really think anyone is going to value what you have to say when you start off by calling anyone who disagrees with you "stupid?"

Oh the irony.

I get that this year was different but Hamrick has done a terrible job hiring the right people to create any sort of unique atmosphere At Marshall sporting events. It’s bland and vanilla. Going through the motions.

Also what happened with the baseball stadium where we raised money. Broke ground and then came back and said “oh the bids were higher than anticipated. We actually need more money.”

IMO, Hamrick has to go too.

The baseball field plans will be scaled back to budget. IF it’s ever built at all.

What if we played Charlotte?
Still doesn't make your post valid. Backing in would be what FAU did last year and would have done this year. Needing other teams to lose so they could get in.

The plot hole with us purposely ducking Charlotte is that CUSA would be accomplices which would invalidate every criticism we've had about them over the years.

Now if we had lost to Charlotte and sat at home hoping for an FAU loss to get back in then you may have a point.

There was no question all season that Marshall was going to represent the East. We did not back in. We might have broke down in the driveway, but we didn't back in.

Fair enough. Good points

This team is obviously broken. Had we played Charlotte , this is in all likelihood would have been what we would have been doing. The administration knew that, hence we found a way not to play Charlotte.
