Pop gets on mic in middle of game and tells Spurs fans to stop booing the Clippers.

Popp', and to a less extent Steve Kerr, are two of the best humans in professional sports. Mike Conley and Francisco Lindor are also up there.

Agree that Pop is a good dude, but do you not think it's a bit silly for a professional coach to chastise fans over booing an opposing team/player? I mean it's something that's been happening since competitive sports have existed. American athletes, coaches, and officials have no idea how good they have it compared to their counterparts in most of Europe and in Central and South America.

BTW, who is "Popp'"?

You'd have to understand the history behind it.

It was booing Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi played for the Spurs for many years, led them to an NBA championship, and was coached by Pop' there for many years. It wasn't some random opposing player. He was sticking up for his former player. He did a lot for the Spurs and should be appreciated by their fans. That whole critical thinking thing . . .

It's the "p" key being next to the apostrophe key.

I know who it was. I know what he did for the Spurs. And I get why Pop would want to stand up for a former player (even though Pop himself was kind of a dick about Kawhi leaving in the past), but that's something you do in a post-game press conference, not in the middle of a game. All you ate going to do in that situation is exacerbate the situation, which is exactly what happened.

This. Dude was Finals MVP and brought them a championship. You don't need to actively root for him against your team, but show some class for the guy who brought your city a championship.

F that. Before the game, if they honor the guy during a stoppage of play, or if there's some sort of ceremony, give the man the key to the city. The second the game starts though, he's a member of the opposing team who is trying to beat your team. Boo, boo more, boo louder. The average price of a Spurs ticket is between $210 & $230 (depending on provider) & that's just for the ticket. If they're not being racist, threatening, or profane, those paying fans are 100% in the right to boo an opposing player. Hell, they're 100% in the right if the want to boo Pop for suggesting they shouldn't boo.

hahahah, virtue signaling left wing ass bags more like it.

I would have booed his ass while he was talking.

Pop a zit and Kerr are just like most democrats. They despise anyone with a different opinion and will gladly tell you how wrong you are all while shitting rainbows and unicorns

Yeah... That's what it was...

I don't think Popp's (sic) actions were as altruistic as your fairy tale mind believes...

"Anybody that knows anything about sports. You don't poke the bear," Popovich said post-game when asked for an explanation. He declined to expound after a follow-up. "I spoke English, I just told ya. Anybody that knows anything about sports knows that you don't poke the bear."

You know, critical thinking and all...🤣

I was a lifelong Spurs fan until crater face went woke liberal Democrat. Then the BLM fiasco, so I quit watching the *** several years back. They can all kiss my black ass.

Moderator edit: Michigan, that's a little over the line.

Is SA one of those teams that take pride in not acting like it's Philly, NY, or Boston? That's how I see it. Kind of like how I expect Marshall fans to act different than WVU fans.

I didn't watch any of the game, but in general booing and some degree of heckling I think is fine. I don't care for crass language, racist garbage and what not.

But isn't like an old home court basketball thing to pick out a guy and every time he touches it just erupt in boos? That seems like good old fashioned home court advantage.

In a perfect world you'd give him a warm welcome at starting line ups to show your appreciation, then boo him like crazy once the game starts.

I used to think Pop was a good coach until I actually started watching the Spurs...

I am of this mind. But I'm also cool with a coach saying be cool to the guy who brought the city a championship.

At the same time, should Joey Votto play for another team next season I will tell any Reds fan that boos him to STFU. I'd throw hands over that, for sure. I might get my old ass knocked out, but some things are worth fighting for 😂

who edited what? Damn it. That pisses me off.

So if it came down to Kawhi hitting a free throw to send the game to OT, should fans have gone silent to allow him to concentrate?

Well, like always, it doesn’t take much to prove you wrong, moron:

He also wanted out of San Antonio, and made that happen by refusing to play unless he was “100%.”

While I would certainly appreciate the ring, there are still plenty of reasons to boo him if you’re a San Antonio fan.

Ever been to SA? You can’t fault the guy for that.
Been a couple of times. years ago. Had a blast both times. Maybe it has changed. The river walk area was cool. Stayed down there both times. One time was during the NBA All Star game and opening of a Planet Hollywood. Saw Charles Barkely, Shaq, and Bruce Willis. Barkley was very close in the hotel and Shaq was a little ways off. Willis was across the street.

All you did was prove Popp (sic) was disingenuous and contradictory on one or both of his statements. You know, critical thinking...

Keep trying though. It's always fun seeing you fail.

Hmmm... That sounds contradictory to what you've been posting about blue cities recently...

San Antonio is one of the best blue cities in Texas, thanks to the mixture of urban and hometown feel. It is a historical city in South Central Texas, offering great diversity. Gradually, it has been booming in economic growth, and this has made moving here worthwhile.

Among all the most liberal cities in Texas, San Antonia stands out as the best because of its warm and hospitable people. The city is progressive and peaceful because residents respect other cultures and values.

The quality of life in San Antonio is magnificent, calm, and relaxing, making it one of the most wonderful places to live or visit.

I’ve only been to Houston & Galveston. I need to check out Dallas and so many other places in Texas. We are planning a road trip across the country next summer, and the Alamo might make the final list.

Dealey Plaza tour is interesting in Dallas.

The Alamo is humbling to see but the city has been built around it so that gives it an odd perspective.

I’ve been down to Dealey. I’m not trying to be sarcastic, there can’t be much to that tour. It’s way smaller than you think it would be. Almost like it’s the perfect spot for something like that to happen, too

The tour guide we had made it interesting. Not sure if he was the exception or not. It is small, smaller than you'd think.

After going to Dealey, I'm 1,000,000% convinced there was no "second shooter." Place is small, no way another shooter on the "grassy knoll" goes undetected by everyone.

Also, downtown Dallas is boring. No real personality. Feels like a generic big city. Same with St. Louis. Two of my least favorites.

I don't think it was Oswald alone. I'm not big into conspiracies but that one I absolutely believe.
