Could be a number of ways by the savy jokers. They hack into your email. use it for propaganda, troops movements, escape routes. Some smart cookies out there. Remember the USB thing and they Chinese? Chinese could use, Russians, and others. They are probably doing it anyway. They even can splice into cell phone calls. You ought to see that technology. That is some wacky shit. Doesn't really matter that it is the cloud and you are leaving a trail. No big deal. I am sure the Chinese, Russians, and other intelligence agencies would never use it for anything though.

If the condition was near perfect, you MIGHT have a point. But as an example, the Benghazi situation lasted several hours and we (the most powerful nation on Earth) couldn't get there in time to help.
