Norm McDonald and Bob Dole I hope met today.
What a great American. Tough as nails. Remember watching when Bush died and they had to hold him up so he could salute left handed . Patriot. He was badly shot up in WW2.

He seemed to be a decent human being. We have fewer and fewer of those.
I got to shake the hand of Bob Dole. It was probably about 1973 so I was 9 or 10 years old. It didn't really mean much to me at the time because he wasn't Johnny Bench or Joe Morgan. I just remember he seemed like a nice man.
Later on I developed a disdain for the Hollywood crowd when Rosie O'Donnell would yell "Dole sucks!" whenever his name was mentioned. I couldn't help but think that he gave up the use of his right arm just so a spoiled ingrate like her could say such things...
