There was a lot of talk of him coming to Marshall but he went to Memphis instead. Basically, Memphis released him and he transferred to Tennessee and played immediately (didn't have to sit out a year) under a "run-off waiver". I have never heard of that before.
He played in a few games this year for the Vols but in December announced he was leaving to transfer to another school where he could have a more prominent roll (read: playing time). As I recall he was a top 100 player at 6' 10" and 300 lbs. I read where he lost 25 lbs at Tennessee trying to get on the floor. Sounds like Canty: grass always greener somewhere else... Too bad.
