Rice Owls

GHMY - Ever hear of a movie titled “The Jerk”?
You would be perfect for the lead. Get over yourself! Who appointed you the arbiter of “good” posts and “bad” posts? You (of all people!!) enjoy coming on here and polluting threads with your run-on rants....allow the rest of us to do the same and we will get along. Otherwise? Be prepared for incoming!!
I have heard of that movie. I love it. Steve Martin was brilliant in it. I appreciate you complimenting me with such an iconic role.

Its not me polluting threads, its me being critical of your irrationality.
Furthermore, it just proves some can't be happy with what MU can do.

Lets just use an example...as of now, MU has managed to schedule 8 more games than ohio state, has played and won more games than they have, and has been on TV more than they have so far.

Hamrick made football happen where some of the biggest names in football have not.

this frustrates me to no end.Having Rice do this at this late date. I just think they should figure out a way to play. I saw a stat the other day and across the US the 20 yr olds at dozens of schools who have contacted this are not having to be hospitalized. Where I am at, we have had over 300 college age students test positive the last six months with only 5 being hospitalized and zero deaths.

Some schools like Marshall had to play this fall, or risk the total collapse of its athletic department. Rice has all the money in the world, they play sports for reasons unknown even to them, so the decision to play it safe is a much easier call.

People seem to have made this about politics, but it seems to me like the major academic institutions that don't really need sports to establish their quality were first in line to opt out of playing. The ACC drags along Wake and Duke, the same way the SEC drags along Vandy, but in C-USA there isn't that same gravity or conference control to make sure schools like Rice and Old Dominion behave like Marshall and Southern Miss.

Care to explain the entire MAC and MWC, who opted out of playing? I'm fairly sure many weren't making money prior to this.

Sure, they have some good schools, but I'd hardly call any of them a significant academic institution, not likely to be in the same academic atmosphere as your listing of Rice, Vandy, or Duke.

The ACC may have dragged along Duke and WF, but both of those schools could have opted out, like a lesser institution of ODU. Why they chose to stay? No idea.

Also, the entire Big 10 is highly academic but also very much a sports and football first conference, and they aren't playing either.

Don’t be dense. Liscious is talking about endowments. Marshall’s is $130 million. Rice’s is 6.5 BILLION.

Calm down before you shoot in your pants.

Given the inherent lack of support you have gotten from your useless posts, I'll take you about as seriously as that idiot brad smith who writes for wvu.

Pretty clear that most of your posts are given all the serious consideration that can be accorded as they are coming from the North end of a South bound JACKASS!

Yes, because being rational and realizing this isn't some magical method of "picking up the phone" on an already limited set of marketing during an even more limited group of available teams to choose from, is somehow childish.
But then again, its the old people being this way, unable to know old people and babies are basically the same.
I resemble that!
