You keep posting this trying to claim you were correct, but in realit, you were incredibly wrong. If a head coach at the FBS level isn’t constantly pushing for more from donors and the AD, then he is failing at a major part of his job and failing the players, staff, and fans. It’s not toxic at all to always ask for more. That’s his job.
Weak leaders crumble under that. Strong leaders know how to navigate that and continue the success.
Last year, I left a company where I led teams of about 160 employees. Sales reps reported to a manager who reported to a manager who reported to a manager who reported to me. Our top sales reps were warning $300k-$400k annually, and most of the time, they were the biggest pains in the ass. They always wanted more of something - resources, assistance, money, improved processes, etc. Yet they were so successful because they always pushed for more.
A good leader doesn’t crumble under that and manages those personalities. Bad leaders result in those reps moving to inferior companies.
Huff wasn’t toxic. He was doing what we should.
But I get it - he’s black.
