Running DOGE

DOGE is vastly overestimating the money they’ve “saved.” The largest program on their page says it saved $8B but the contract was only actually for $8M, their OCR just sucks. They’re also counting savings for programs that have already been partially paid out (ie, if a program was $50M and $40M was already paid out, they count cutting it as a savings of $50M anyway. ) And if a program was authorized for 1000 people paid up to $100 an hour, but only 300 people were hired and they were being paid $27 an hour, they still count it as if it was 1000 people making $100 an hour that they saved. The actual number they’re “saving” is probably closer to $2B, if that.

And, the cost of the employees and their legacy cost for decades.

Plus, just using your numbers that is 2 billion not wasted.

I have a buddy that works for the postal service. You should hear some of the stories about what went on during Covid. Hard to believe people can get away with stuff like that....oh don't say anything because they are well you know. People completely disappeared. Didn't do shit. Thousands of them.

Every tax payer should be happy with any dollar saved and with any bloated government programs that can be slashed. Gut it!

Don't want a Dividend. Free $$ is why inflation is through the roof. Need to use that money and reduce the deficit. It would go a lot further.

I agree at reducing the deficit, it isn't free money though it is the taxpayer's money.

If you think about it a dividend is usually just a portion of the profits. Give a percent back to the taxpayers and then pay down the debt. The optics of this are a great response to all the naysayers...

I'm gonna need to run to the store to get more popcorn, because I know one of our numbers guys @Rock98Dog @big_country90 @raleighherdfan is about to tear him to pieces.
I haven't looked at it that closely. I would imagine HH's analysis isn't a complete list or a comprehensive YOY cost to every expense not paid. Remembering how the govt does their budget numbers also adds a level of complexity to anything being reported. Regardless of the total amount, I'm all for it.

Now, I'm really ready for the bigger entitlement cuts... to Greed's and Oldie's govt checks.

There’s An official DOGE clock. It has current verified savings at $55 billion. Musk showed the US debt clock, but that’s not his counter.

What’s the point? These are people that think if a budget calls for a 5% increase and you only do a 4% increase then you’ve cut spending by 1%. They’re all retarded.

Libs screaming to he government

Please rip us off and show us how corrupt you are.

One is the idiot that claimed a $15/hr minimum wage would create $13 Happy meals.
One is a stupid liar like the other 2.
One is the idiot that claimed 99% of all retail workers are part time.
And you're a stupid magatmusker.

NPR's analysis found that, of its verifiable work completed so far, DOGE has cut just $2 billion in spending — less than three hundredths of a percent of last fiscal year's federal spending.
