Doesnt matter how the season went. What matters starts in an hour.

Now, we just have to hope it continues on in three hours!!!

LETS GO!!!!!!

As Samuel would say, this is when we get lucky for 8 days in March.

Since none of that matters, maybe we get an invite to a post season tourney now for being 1-0 against a dreadful FIU team that owned us when it “didn’t matter”? Surely Dan earned a contract extension based off of yesterdays outcome. 😂😂

Nope, the season started in November. Well coached teams, Murray State for example, grabbed weak otherwise one-bid leagues by the throat and controlled them. Projected at a 8 or 9 seed, meaning a legitimate no-upset shot. Quality. Drive. Well-coached. Great season. Becoming a program year on year because fans know what good basketball is and demand it.

Meanwhile, this “one time from 4th place we got on a 8 day winning streak, it might happen again some day” idiocy comes out, probably over today, certainly tomorrow. Rah-rah idiocy.

The difference between a family where mom wants to study, save, and invest and dad hit a scratch-off one time and it might happen again.

I’m with mom.

I am not taking a position on whether Danny should be fired or given one more year. I am taking a position and saying this whole idea that only the tournament counts is pure rubbish. Every game counts. I want to go to the NCAA big dance but not with an 12-20 team. The team we had a few years ago was a good team that peaked at the right time, thus a 4th place regular season and a tourney run was still exciting. The way you build a program is to win 20+ games EVERY YEAR. Then you position yourself for some NCAA/NIT bids.

Moving to court B is not gonna be beneficial.. we never play good on that side of the canvas….

Women lost to Rice, so tonight has every chance of being the Herd’s last game worrying about it.

Sam makes a really good point about Murray State and quality programs as contrasted with the mindset that you can have a disaster year and think "the tournament is all that matters". First, it is unlikely in the extreme that a team as bad as Marshall could get hot enough to actually win the league tourney. Two, I would think it would result in a play in game situation as a 15 seed. Three, IF that were to somehow happen, it would be criminally unfair to steal that bid from North Texas who has had a great season and is the class of the league.

But wait. The tournament formerly known as the CIT, now renamed the “ E-Racism Basketball Classic” has found only 20 takers willing to pay to play for the lofty title of #117 in the country (68 in the real tournament, 32 in the NIT, 16 in the CBI). 12 slots left to sell.

We are defending CIT champions!!!! (No tournament in 20 or 21). We were #117 last time out!!! Among the 20 that have already paid, four have losing records. Why let a little thing like that stop us? Bring on the bus-and-gym small colleges!!!! Maryland - Eastern Shore! Merrimack College! South Carolina Upstate! Southeast Louisiana!

If CH was willing to play bowl game after bowl game, despite the fact that the rules prohibit such a thing, then certainly DD should be willing! This is actually legal.

The season can restart tomorrow!!!!! It not over until we say its over!!!!!!!!

False bravado and phony toughness all around!!!
