Herald-Dispatch and Keith Morehouse both reporting that Mike Selby (center) is now lost for the remainder of the season and will have surgery. Another huge player loss on a team that can't afford to lose players.

There kind of reaches a point, when you're looking down into a bucket of feces, urine and vomit, and you see a ball of burnt hair fall into the bucket...all you can do is shrug. #STAMPEDE16
I wasn't saying its a loss Fever, but I don't wish that on any kid, especially a senior, overall seems to be a good kid, just not coached well this year for whatever reason.
His loss creates a big problem at center. ODU for sure will take advantage of blitzing Litton right up the middle.
He's probably been hurt for a while bb, may have been hampering the line more than helping out there. Just speculation.
You do know Levi brown has started every game this year at center, right?
Yes, Selby has been one of our best and most consistent linemen each year for the past 4 years and has played in 45+ games for his career with a lot of starts. Our OL would have been much better this year if Selby and Van Horn were healthy.
No Selby has been the most physical not the most consistent or best. Not even close.
His Freshman year he didn't start
His Sophomore, playing between Jasperse and Van Horn helped mask his short comings
His Junior year he started to get exposed
His Senior year was his worst year and now he is out.
Losing Jasperse 2 years ago to graduation has really hurt the development of the line. If any Jasperse is probably one of the greatest lineman to ever where the Green and White. Our line hasn't been the same since.
Any other coaching staff would plan to roll Litton out of the pocket to prevent the defense from smearing him on the turf.
Ours will have him stay under center and dial up the same 4 predictable plays which make up our offense playbook.
We will surely miss his brain, not so sure about his body. Hope he does well, Doc says he's already offered him a clip board and a whistle to finish out the year on the sidelines.
