I hope he stays with it. Someone said at that level, 'I may love football, these guys cant live with out it'.
The summer heat and humidity there is enough to chase off someone.
It happen. I recall a few seasons ago, MU had a big lineman from a small school in Mason County, possibly Wahama. Believe his last name was Cordell. Was highly regarded, was doing well for a while with the team. Just up and quit football. Had been the first player from his school to get a D-1 scholarship. Don't know if it was homesickness, didn't like college life in general, or just tired of football. Not every body at age 18 or so has their life clearly mapped out. Wish Stewart all the best going forward with his life.
Hannan High School. I believe his reasons for leaving were two fold.
One he did not like being cursed and derided by the coaching staff here at that time.
Second the young man liked fb as a game but not as a full time job.
He was here under Pruett? I don't recall.

Yes I believe it was during BP's tenure. Let me be clear I'm not pointing a finger at Bob directly.
Must not have had much interest in college ball in the first place if 3 days of practice is enough to make you decide to give it all up.
What I meant was that BP was not directly berating the player, it was a position coach who cursed loud enough to be heard in Chesapeake.
Could be a Blake Keller scenario where a year away from the game is what he needs. Or then again, maybe not. I feel bad for the kid. Must feel like the weight of the world is on his shoulders.
I thought this would happen. Going from WV high school football to LSU is an eye opener. The same thing would have happened at Marshall if he would have stepped onto the field. He would no longer be pushing kids around half his size. He made the decision, let him live with it. Heat and humidity! Hell its summer time, its hot everywhere. If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen. GO HERD!!
Heat and humidity was not my concern. I was more worried about transitioning to the culture change.
