She's a liar

I believe the city council may have approved the move as well. Then, the emergency board agreed and moved on with it.

Might be wrong, but I think I read it that way. So, the plan was already in place.

If you read it, provide link because I have been following this for about a year now and I never seen anything like this.

But I have seen where the city council was reaching out about the after effects about the switch that fell on deaf ears. Either way the citizens of Flint havent had clean water in almost 2 years. Water was so bad GM refused it because it was destoying there parts.

There was 3 warning signs within a month of them making the switch and the warning signs got worse. Not until a year and a half later did the governor finally felt it was a serious problem

Flint had been getting its water from the Detroit Water and Sewage Department.[6] In 2013, the Flint city council voted to join the Karegnondi Water Authority, which would pump water from Lake Huron, but Flint couldn’t connect until 2016. The city was operating under the control of emergency managers appointed by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder,[7] which approved the city council's decision.

Got it from wikipedia just reading up on it, start with first paragraph labeled Before 2014.

yeah, the city council symbolically voted to switch from dwsd to kwa, but kwa isn't the flint river. the dwsd gave flint notice they'd be shutting off drinking water in one year, but would be willing to work in that time to reach a new agreement. instead, state appointed emergency manager ed kurtz went out and signed an agreement with a firm to get the flint water plant up and running and start using water from the flint river.

the city council symbolically approved switching to kwa, they didn't approve switching to flint river water in the meantime.

And even after they made the switch and all the problems started the DWSD said they can switch back for free and the governor and the Emergency Manager turned it down. Either way, the people of Flint are now 2 years in of not having any clean drinking water

I said I was just reading up on it. I am not an expert on the Flint Water crisis. Just started reading up. I am not arguing with you. Wikipedia was a least a place to start.

Well, at least as long as they put fluoride in it they won't get rotten teeth like back in the holler with the well. No fluoride in well water. No dentist appointments either until you get a job with dental. And by then it's too late.

Before they drilled a well, they drank out of a hand dug well. Muddy water with bugs in it. Had to seine 'em out.

This is the problem with you republican supporters, you guys toe the company line when it comes to social issues by just deflecting and not looking up facts.

Ugggh, I said I was starting to read up on it. Not sure what more I can do.

Shouldn't have turned into a political football game. It's too late now for unbiased evaluation. You all sent Lester Holt and some fat loudmouth bums he rounded up on the street to yell at me about how bad Republicans are over this. What the hell do you think my response was going to be? F you and I hope you gag on your shit water. That's my response to that.

That's your problem. You declare war and then want a calm, rational solution after you've already tweaked our noses. Too damn late. Next time, leave the political ballgame out of it and we'll be able to look at it fairly.

The sun finally sank to an acceptable level and I got a burst of energy out of it. I'll try to keep it down. It's warm today too though. This is rejuvenating not having to wear 7 coats and shiver all day.

So let me get this straight. This city was basically bankrupt and in receivership. The state has to take it over. They(city) vote on switching over to a new water system. But, the new water system can't get them water until 2016(they voted to do this is 2013 and move forward in 2014). So, it is decided to tap into the Flint River. They have old lead pipe and it reacts with the Flint River water.

But, it is all Republicans fault because the city was inept and made a bad deal? Common sense would tell me there is plenty of blame to go around.

1. the state was responsible for running flint and all decisions relating to the city of flint, via a emergency city manager appointed by gov rick snyder
2. the city council voted to switch to kwa, but it meant nothing because the city manager had the ONLY say so in such a decision
3. the city manager agreed to and signed the kwa deal. then he agreed to and signed a deal to start using water from the flint river while kwa was being completed
4. there were reports of bad water quality, but the city manager and state ignored those reports
5. dwsd offered to supply water to flint again, waiving their $4m reconnection fee, but the city manager declined
6. in march 2015 the city council voted to switch back to dwsd, but since they had no power it was for nothing as the city manager said there was nothing wrong with the flint water.

every decision made was by emergency state appointed city managers, who were appointed by gov rick snyder. the people of flint, the mayor, the city council had no official power or say so in any of the decisions.

Never would have happened that way if Flint would not have been inept to start with. So, yes, the officials in Flint share the blame. That is why they were under emergency manager and board.

Its not the Republicans fault because the city is inept.

The lack of planning, lack of reaction response, lack of reaction time, the stonewalling for a of finding a solution, forcing people to pay 3x times the rate of water, and not allowing the citizens to sell their homes because they have had poisened water for 2 years IS why the Republicans are at fault.

But you dont see that because Republicans can never admit fault.

If I wasn't a miser, I'd buy me a 1985 Dodge Power Wagon and admit fault as it belched smoke to the tune of 5 mpg as it dirtied up the air.

Just stop, too many facts will make him crawl into a ball.

At the end of the day I blame the Governor and the EPA official who kept saying it was good to drink the water when the Lead level was 307 parts per billion

i don't disagree the city was ran poorly for decades (****, most cities are ran poorly), but the people solely responsible for this situation is gov snyder and his team. they made the move to kwa, they made the move to the flint river temporarily, they lied to the public for months about the quality of water, they turned down deals to fix the issue, all to try to save a buck or two.

Republicans owe big time. More than they can ever repay. Since it's too much, they might as well just throw up their hands and beg Bernie for forgiveness. Or just sit on a street corner with a bucket.

I agree with Fever and Herditt. The Gov should have just turned the water off and not tapped into the river. Should have told Flint people, "your past leadership fvcked you. Lake Huron water will be here in 2 years. Good luck."
