Sources tell FootballScoop Charles Huff has landed Clint Trickett as his receivers coach.

Trickett was also under consideration for a number of other positions we had heard over the past few days including for the tight ends position at Ole Miss.

For Trickett, this is an opportunity to return to his home state, having been born in Morgantown. Clint is the youngest of three sons or legendary football coach Rick and his wonderful wife Tara Trickett.

My initial excitement of the Huff hire has officially been erased. Is it too late for a do-over, and can we beg Ledford to please come back, as I urged to hire previously?

Uh oh. A nattering nabob of negativity has surfaced.
IDk. For me there are some things that make you go WtF?
the guy hasn’t been a Co or HC at any level. Ok fine. We’ll see
But then he keeps the OC? Why? They share an agent? IDK. The old OC worked the back channels at MU for him? Maybe
The DC looks like he won’t last long here only because he comes well credentialed
Bill Legg? I don’t have a real problem w him except it seems Huntington ran him out of town once. Did he work the back channels as well? Did he tell him to hire Clint? what was the HC relationship w Clint prior to this hire?
I hope it all works out!! Could be a hell of a ride. We’ll see!!
I can’t wait to go to Navy!!!

Navy is not a good first game for us. Tough matchup to start with. Also, my guess is there will be no crowd.

I don’t care. It will be. Bad match up for them as they’ll have no clue what we’ll do!! I think we’ll have crowds by then. Besides Cantlers will be open. That alone is worth the trip

Navy is under the DOD. Likely not gonna happen is my guess. Let's hope, but I would not count on it.

otoh - Coach Huff has 5 months to practice our D to go against their quirky offense!! I say advantage Huff’s Herd......

He probably noticed that Cramsey had explosive offenses until he started working for Doc. Do you believe that Cramsey became stupid the minute he came to Huntington or did Doc keep a leash on him? I truly believe it was the latter

IDK according to Clint VanHorn on the other site Doc never interfered w the OC, in any way, no matter who was the OC
I believe that

Not saying it isn't true, but then it was a hell of a coincidence that he picked 2 in a row who had the same dumbass tendencies.
The coaches spend every day with the players - I'm sure they were calling the plays they felt best fit the talent (or lack thereof) they had on the team.

Our offenses were far too different by comparison.

Our own unemployed nick saban has spoken. Time to hop off the bandwagon

Dork, we've gone over this before. Unlike you, I don't have to beg for jobs. If I wanted to coaching at an FCS, many of them, I would be. If I wanted to be a QC/analyst at an FBS, I have had many options.

Would you like to discuss why you think hiring Trickett is a good hire?

I read that but I can't believe Cramsey was so successful everywhere until he came here
He wasn't. As pointed out his time at Nevada was less than stellar, but we all explained that away as having inferior talent.
