I don't like this idea of being some helpless worker begging for a wage. You need work done. You've got money. You tell me what you're willing to pay me for that work. If I like the amount, I'll do it. If not, I won't.

It's as simple as that. I'm not begging. I'd go live out of the garbage before I'd accept being some helpless pitied thing with people feeling sorry for me so they have to pay me X amount.

You have to realize you are speaking to a person who has chosen to work in the non profit world. Most of those employees don't even realize that even their industry must operate under some level of low profitability to survive. It's also funny that they moan about businesses "dodging taxes" and being greedy, while at the same time depending on their business model to do the very same thing in order to make their payroll.

Most people who throw around the "slave" banter essentially view themselves as such. It's just easier to offer that as an excuse for their perceived worldly shortfalls and support politicians that promise them guaranteed prosperity vs doing something that changes their existence.

Our American industrial revolution was built on the policy that Americans and American capital were to build industry in America. Today that is not the case. Much of our corporate society is treasonous. I could almost understand treason if the reason was small tax and policy differences between equals. It is not. It is exploitation of peasants and working with corrupt governments with zero concern for the environment or basic human rights.

I never claimed a majority of board members were foreigners. I claimed "you would be surprised how many foreigners served on international company boards". I also claimed that for American businesses operating internationally "Corporate Society has a majority of foreign/international ties" vs. all/only American work forces in American only businesses in years past. Suggesting International companies (which happen to be of Amerca origin) "are treasonous" in modern times is myopic and stupid.
