If you see where a lot of the problems are(not all but many or even most) they are in the liberal utopias and big government areas. Look at the big cities. Look at Appalachia like WV where they voted big government Democrat going to take care of you. Did it for about 80 years. Inner city. Same deal. Nothing is really fixed.
As I get older there is a side that says you know what you will be ok and someone will pay you to do something until you reach the finish line. Sit back and go golf, fish, cut grass and watch the Rome burn shit show the last couple decades or years of your life. And, when it gets so bad it will get fixed by the right people.
When my son graduated high school and I would say he was halfway through college I told him you are in a good position at this point in history. He said why? I said if you keep your head on straight probably 50 to 60% of your competition in your age group is already beat. How? THey are of generation snowflake and mommy and daddy helicoptering in for everything and the long apron string that can't be cut. They are basically soft(I think I used a word that started with a P) that is the way I worded it. I said it won't be a given but stay out of trouble, work hard, and keep your head on straight and you have a chance to make an do well. Make yourself an asset to whatever organization you join or get hired at. Be of value. When you get punched, figuratively or literrally, get back up. Half these other folks your age are going to stay down or be searching when they are 50.
I could see it when I was coaching ball when he was younger. Damn this kid is a good kid and has potential but God his parents are fruit loops and he won't stand at chance at this rate. I will never forget I had two kids(good kids) who accussed me of being a male chauvenist because two other boys in the dugout saw some girls walking by the field and they noticed. I said, ok pay attention to the game and those girls probably hit better than you all anyway so let's focus on the game. The little mush brain looks at me and says , "coach are you a male chauvinist?". For me saying the girls hit better than you and pay attention? They learn that shit somewhere and that is at home. I said whatever man if that is your definition of it then so be it. He was stunned I didn't back down from his label. Guess what I hear from mommy and daddy.
The point is this country has lost its way. This latest episode is an example of it. I have YET to meet a person that doesn't think what those cops did was wrong and they should be punished. And that includes law enforcement. But, yet I and others I know get lectured about supporting cops. Drew Brees can't support the flag without be lecutred or blasted. The flag! The flag didn't kill anybody. When you support peaceful protest but call a riot and vandalism wrong you are blasted. When you support Trump you are automatically labeled a racist without even debating policy or ideas or actual facts. People think it is ok to go tear up others peoples stuff and businesses because of what happend to Mr Floyd. Why? Because those people are angry. They would not like if it was their car or home. They would be the first to call 911 and demand help and for it to stop. Let the cops go away and let's see how far society makes it.
Pandemic the same way. You can't say we need to open the economy as well. Oh my god, herdman. Hey, 5 days ago you told me it wasn't safe to go to church or a sports bar, but I can go throw a brick through a CVS store. Or, it is not safe for your to gather and participate in your 1st Amendment rights or expression of religion but, wait a protest is ok. I have no issue with the protest that are peaceful but I do with the hypocrits and politicians that flip flop because it fits their agenda or narrative. Would the governor allow the Tea Party or RNC to gather...oh wait that was announced. But, the governor can go march in a protest.
So, in summary, sometimes I think we should say have at it. Go ahead and do what you want to with it. And, when it turns into Somalia or Welch WV then don't say I didn't warn you. Have fun Suburban Karen in your mini van.
