Anyone get the feeling this will be a cluster? I bought extra tickets for the game and they handed me the tickets with no indication of where you should sit according to the section you bought. All they have to do is hand out a flyer with your assignment or print it on the ticket. They did this for season ticket holders but most tickets will be bought through the ticket office.

Lots of Fans couldn't even get it right for the Green out. I hope I'm wrong but I see this a colossal screwup with not handing out the paper showing what to wear.

And I know they could just look it up on the Internet but let's be honest that most of our casual fans aren't going to do this

Anyone get the feeling this will be a cluster?

No I think it will be fine, every other school does it and it works out just fine. Marshall fans and people of Huntington in general have such a beta defeatist mentality sometimes.

They will also be giving out 10,000 shirts for the game so don't worry if it will work... just do your part to make it work.

Why can't they print it on the ticket?

I'm sure they could have. Just reminded the person buying that their color is printed on the ticket. Just not a lot of white Marshall shirts out there that people buy also.

I just don't have a lot of confidence in our marketing to make this work properly.

Glenn's has white and green t's on sale with the corresponding section color coded on a seating chart of the stadium

Right but you would think Marshall would be the one pushing it to make sure it works. I haven't seen a word about it from MU for long time. Now they are just pushing the sellout which is important but I want it to look good.

I've had season tickets for 20 plus years, still have NO idea what color my section is supposed to be.

This is going to be a complete pubically televised PR disaster.

Why they haven't put a post on Herdzone of Section # is color is white or green is unthinkable.

What are there, 15 sections and 2 colors? Even just post these 7 sections are white everyone else kelly green.

This is something Landon could write about that could help, but he won't.

Just talked with a lady on Facebook who bought their tickets. I mentioned about striping the stadium and she had ZERO clue. Didn't know where to find what they were supposed to wear. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Had I not informed her they could have been wearing a different color. This will happen all over the stadium. Wait and see.

There should be a big poster of some sort at the ticket office and people should be at least reminded to review the section and color corresponding to that section. They are just handing out tickets with no earthly clue that most of these people have no idea this is going on.

Why can't they print it on the ticket?
There is a printed map on the season tickets. It would cost a ton of money to print easch individual. The map has been plastered all over Twitter, Facebook and Big Green and Alumni mailings. The hospitals have bought 10,000 shirts to be distributed on game day.
If, for some reason you can't find it, wear a green shirt since most sections are green and carry a white one with you. All the endzone is green. Only sides of stadium are striped.
White sections are: 101, 105, 109, 113, 102, 106, 110, 114, 114, 122, and 126. All others are green.

I honestly think if a shirt was laid on every seat in the the stadium in the right color by section some would still say we would screw it up because Marshall needs to have someone there to make sure the person put it on.

As for marketing...it will be strong next week and I have personally seen it everywhere. Printing the individual game tickets would not allow for the map to be printed. Maybe there could have been room to print the color by the section but just how much space is allowed for additional message on game tickets? Season tickets are not printed the same way as single game tickets.

At this point...I want it to be successful however...I am more concerned about the success on the field that what happens in the stands. Glenn's has a map and shirts priced reasonable for Herd fans for those that might need a white shirt. We had to get two last weekend for my wife and son as they only have green shirts.

It's only printed on season tix, not the other 24K that may be sold.

Again, those media sources only attract a small percentage of our fan base; certainly not the average Joe who buys a ticket at the Henderson Center or walk up. They need to put the chart in the paper and blast it on local media sports segments. That would ensure all bases have been covered. I don't have twitter, haven't seen it on Facebook. I did get the BG email.

I predict you'll see a huge advertising blitzkrieg once the Akron game is over.

I bet, if everyone complaining that Marshall isn't doing a good job of telling people what to wear, would tell 10 people each... this wouldn't be an issue. Instead of complaining here which is completely pointless, go tell 10 people you know that are going to the game, and then have them go tell people.

Some of you guys crack me up.... It will look fine... Let's talk about something more important, like how our dbs are going to get burned all day long against LVille....

Lol! My tickets are in 109 and I don't like white, maybe I should just take this attitude!

I am taking Mom to the game, ordered us some white shirts. The selection is white is crappy. Wish I had known there would be freebies at the gate.

I imagine, and hope, they will be laid out in the sections that require that color.

The only possible way for this to come off would be if the athletic department purchased the shirts and laid them out on each seat in the stadium.

This looks really great when it's done as it should be and really hideous when its not.

Betting on hideous...due to history.

For the OP regarding Louisville - things could become a nightmare very quickly. Louisville wins at FSU this week and they will come into Huntington possibly ranked as high as #7 smelling blood and ready to do what they did to Charlotte and Syracuse.

Simple solution: EVERYONE GOING TO THE GAME, REGARDLESS OF GENDER, SHOW UP "TOPLESS". When presenting your ticket at the gate, YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE "RIGHT COLOR" SHIRT!!! To quote a "great" past American politician, H. Ross Perot, "Problem Solved"!!:)

Louisville could also be ranked 7 or better and run in to a blood bath by thinking Marshall is Charlotte or Syracuse.

Giving out 10k shirts is a good idea but what if most of those shirts are given to people who already have the right shirt on? Just saying

A cheap shirt would be $4.00. 30,000 shirts would be $120,000. There are not too many $120K sponsors out there.

Lol, I would imagine the people wearing the correct shirt will hand the free shirt off to Someone not wearing the correct shirt.... Some of you are just over thinking this thing... Let's just focus on the Akron game
