A few recent studies suggest that people have become less likely to have medical debt or to postpone care because of cost. They are also more likely to have a regular doctor and to be getting preventive health services like vaccines and cancer screenings. A new study, published Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine, offers another way of looking at the issue. Low-income people in Arkansas and Kentucky, which expanded Medicaid insurance to everyone below a certain income threshold, appear to be healthier than their peers in Texas, which did not expand.

43% of republicans believe obama is a muslim. I'm guessing most conservatives on this board are part of that 43%.

can't imagine why anyone with a brain would even consider the notion that he has strong ties to the religion of peace...

We should steer it back to the old way instead AND require hospitals to not charge patients with insurance more to cover the cost of those without insurance. That will help lower premiums.

Better yet, let's require health insurance providers not to collect premiums from healthy customers to pay for those needing care.

Yep, they will bankrupt the insurance companies by squeezing reimbursements and then capping premiums. They will then make those 100s of 1000s of jobs government ones, where the benefit package is significantly higher than the private sector. This will further run up costs.

Brilliant plan.

When insurance providers waste 1/3 of revenue, it leaves room to pay people to do the job.

Always telling when xgreed speaks. In the liberal world, employing people is "waste".

I don't believe the goal of ACA was to bankrupt in the traditional sense. Just like the public utilities now, heavily regulated, quasi govt controlled, publicly traded companies which will eventually throw off large amounts of $$$ to their share holders.

Proof that a healthcare system run by giant for-profit firms is a system designed to avoid sick people.

Proof that Aetna doesn't want to lose $200,000,000 a year to prop up Obama's fantasy healthcare dream.

In simplest terms, that $200,000,000 they lost last year was a direct tax paid by the company for yet another social assistance program.

I think we all understand that businesses have to make money, so what is your solution? Healthcare for the healthy only?

Let's start with a question.

Do you think a 90 year old man should be able to obtain life insurance for the same rate as a 20 year old woman? Why or why not?

No. Do you think a 90 year old wealthy man should get healthcare but not a 20 year old woman? Why or why not?

surely you've heard Supreme Leader talk about "those willing to work" or those "looking for work" when talking about unemployment. what you won't hear him talk about are those "out of the workforce" or the fact that 1 in 5 homes now have no one in the workforce...

Are they calculating unemployment rates different now than before obama took office?

Dtard. You didn't post this article about Obama care. I wonder why not I'll just leave a couple of quotes here for you to digest

When Obamacare was developed, one goal was to allow middle-class Americans to use the new marketplaces to buy the same kind of health insurancethey had at their jobs. People could retire early, or quit a corporate job and become a freelancer, and still have the great care and financial protection that come with high-end plans.

But six years into the health law, the reality is that a typical Obamacare plan looks more like Medicaid, only with a high deductible.

According to analyses by two consulting firms — Avalere Health and McKinsey — the number of plans that offer a wide choice of doctors and hospitals is on a steady decline. Two-thirds of plans were health maintenance organization plans that offer care from only a limited choice of doctors and hospitals this year, according to an analysis from McKinsey’s Center for U.S. Health System Reform
