Happy Holidays Mr. Perkins. I’m going to skip the small typing and go right to Pitts. Is he a head case?

You guys remember Baghdad Bob? He was the Iraqi military guy that kept coming on the news during the Gulf War saying how they were winning and all was good despite the whole country being overrun by US Troops.

When I read these apologists that tell us everything is great with the program, I think about Baghdad Bob.

One thing I'll say for Aaron is that he doesn't let this stuff get to him. Marshall lost yesterday, and he took it in stride and went back to enjoying Christmas with his family.

Until 10:24 p.m.

Right, and the guys that held him to around 30 yards on 20 carries in the last quarter and a half didnt do anything at all, right?

Agreed! The product on the field was so awful, that there’s no way Hamrick will allow Doc back. That’s exciting!
Rifle is correct. Case in point: Doc’s strong suit? Special teams’ play. The 1st Qtr punting/penalty/punting/Really? same penalty/JC - they did it again - Refs: we give up/muffed punt. When 2 players line up at a 45 degree angle 3 yards off the line.....wtf is that??? I’m sure Doc will say that that “was a bad deal right there”, but who on the staff taught those 2 players that technique? I have watched a lot of football - have never seen a sequence like that by Marshall, any other college team or any high school team ......if Aaron has an explanation that makes sense, would love to hear it....

You mean the guys who stood up and let themselves be pushed into the end zone on the decisive play of the game - those guys?
You do understand us letting them score was the correct thing to do, right? Buffalo’s coach actually made a huge mistake leaving so much time on the clock.

Oh, I get it......their QB doing the stationary quick steps at the 2 yard line before we, after several seconds broke through to throw him for a “loss” might have been a clue. Why in the hell is Doc burning our last time out with the clock stopped? Let’s just not make our D line the Steel curtain....if their starter was healthy? He would have gone for 300.....

Just stop it.

Williams is obviously a very good back but Buffalo’s backup RB Kevin Marks is almost just as good. Kid went for over 1,000 last year and was on pace to do it again this year if they had played a normal amount of games.

I was impressed with the defense during the Buffalo game, offense was so close to breaking out but —— bad play calls and coaching blunders—- sputtered the O out.

Grant will rebound, I have no doubt. Too easy to root for him also. Installing a new offense might be rough, but not sure what our O is really. We have the same problems we’ve always had on O during Doc’s tenure, it just goes flat and we beat ourselves on O. We usually don’t run into a defensive wall, we just kinda stand out there and look like we’re lost.

I’m hopeful for some redemption for this squad next year, and hope everyone that hasn’t said they’re leaving stays.

Is Wells easy to root for tho? What makes him easy to root for? From what I’ve seen he doesn’t have the respect of any of his offensive players
Because he’s a good kid who works hard and is extremely humble?

Grant is very well liked inside that locker room. He’s not a rah-rah type of QB and stays to himself quite a bit during games, but that doesn’t mean his teammates have a lack of respect for him.

personally, I’d like my QB to be with offense on the sideline right before major drives... instead of standing off to the side by himself. I’m not saying he’s a bad guy, or I root against him. But at the QB position you have to demand the respect of your teammates. Not stand to the side and not talk to them.

I really wish Grant was the type of player to get "amped" up and get his teammates on the sideline pumped up.

That's nothing against Grant either, I'm still rooting for him and I think he'll redeem himself next year. He played fantastic for a freshman the first 7 games, and even throughout the last two it seems like play calling might have been the reasoning for his lackluster performances.

And I want to clarify: I hope he does well and I think he may be great. But at this point I don’t understand the belief that some have that we shouldn’t try to bring in someone better because he’s “the next Pennington” or he’s just so likeable. I hope he does well.

Gotcha. Makes sense.

Grant is only a freshman. I think (hope) he will grow into the role of a more vocal leader.

He may be well liked in the locker room but what about in the parking lot?

I think Litton and Yurachek came back to recreate their rumble in 2016. Bets were placed on who would win.
