taxing the rich makes good economic sense

Funny thing is this article makes the point that the rich already pay most of the taxes.

The top 1 percent on average already pay roughly a third of their incomes to the federal government, according to a Treasury Department analysis that takes into account the entire menu of taxes — including income tax, payroll taxes that fund Medicare and Social Security, estate and gift taxes, excise and custom duties as well as investors’ share of corporate taxes. The tax bite on the top 0.1 percent is a bit higher. Most of those taxpayers insist they are already paying more than enough.

By comparison, the band of taxpayers right below them, in the 95th to 99th percentile, pay on average about $1 out of every $4. Those in the bottom half pay less than $1 out of every $10

Their taxes went significantly up under Obama. Funny thing about that is, the economy (according to Bernie and Hillary the other night) is terrible. So here you have a liberal economist intentionally ignoring the fact taxes have gone up the last eight years, demanding that taxes go higher, while Bernie and Hillary complaining about the poor economy and getting worse. Its a Saturday night live skit.

The Feds only brought in about 3.25 TRILLION dollars in taxes for fiscal year 2015. How much more do they need dtard?

They need more when government entities like the Pentagon loses 8.3 Trillion dollars over 10 years and don't know where it went or lost too

It's from 1996 so it's 20 years not 10. But I agree there is substantial waste in the DoD

Sigh. The money was the entire budget of the Pentagon over the period of the audit. The idea that it is "lost" is ludicrous. It was spent, it was accounted for, it just wasn't accounted for to the degree the auditor wanted. I agree there is waste at the Pentagon, but we didn't just lose $8.5 trillion, use some common sense.

He is demonstrating his Dtard accounting skills.

So citing an article from a reputable site demonstrate "Dtard" accounting skills??

No, demonstrating that you cant comprehend the article that deals with budgets, $ figures, dates and interpreting them correctly, makes you a Dtard level "accountant".

Sounds like you cant read where is says "Want to Cut Government Waste? Find the $8.5 Trillion the Pentagon Can’t Account For"

i knew an army sergeant who ran a recreational skeet range for the army in hawaii for 10 years.
he was hit and killed on I-95. in the trunk of his car the state patrol found $800,000 cash.
from guns he stole and sold from the shooting range.

thats one sergeant at one skeet range over the years.

my dad years ago could go out to fort bragg and bring back ANYTHING he wanted.

in our business at the end of the fiscal year units from ft. bragg came in. they had to spend all the money
they had left in their budget. they bought tons of stuff they did not need and didnt really care what we charged
they had to spend the money so they would not get cut the next year.

thats little sgts at one base at on small business. THINK ABOUT THE BIG DEFENSE CONTRACTORS WHO
HIRE THE GENERALS DOING THE PURCHASING WHEN THEY RETIRE.

OR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS FORCING THE MILITARY TO BUY THINGS THEY DO NOT WANT.
and you honestly do not think any of that money was lost and stolen.

What does a personally owned shooting range have to do with a govt budget? You are an idiot. Not to mention, you champion big govt spending and fraud in every other single way. Whether it's healthcare or welfare?? You brag about waste and fraud in every other govt sector. You are either a hypocrite or an idiot. Not much difference between either in this case. At least we now really know...no way In hell you are an accountant.

Sounds like you can't read past the headline intended for retards. That's the point of actually reading the story you link to in order to gain understanding and context of content. How's this for a title??

"Herdfever Unable to Read and Comprehend News Story. Mother Gleeful he finally moves out after 29 years".

It's crazy how one can live and work in WV for 8 year then come home and live in own apartment for 3 years

But still manage to live at home for 29 years

See, that's how you do it. Read past the headline and gain an understanding of what the story is really about. Why can't you do that with the article you linked us to? You blatantly ignore the substance in the article as it pertains to the budget. No one "lost" 8.5 trillion as you suggested. Intentional misrepresentation on your part.

I am calling bull shit. Shotguns from the on base skeet range?

Let's say this guy was selling shotguns for $800 a piece on the black market. That means he would have had to sold 1,000 shotguns and nobody noticed? As a NCO?

Typically on base skeet ranges(and other recreations) are run by the Morale, Welfare, and Recration funds(MWR) which is money typically generated by the base exchanges and put back into things for MWR.

This guy was an enlisted troop and nobody ever did an audit or knew that type of number of guns were missing?

Good lord. I had to pay for a canteen I lost on a field exercise one time. And you are saying this guy sold government shotguns and made 800 large?

If true, surely there is a link to a story.......800K in the trunk of a car tied to selling US Military guns. That would be a big story. He was stationed in Hawaii but had 800K in cash in his trunk on I-95????

So far 2015 is/was the most tax money the Fed has EVER taken in. Read Walter Williams piece in the HD today about how the lowest 20% of wage earners had an increase in income of close to 91% over the last decade and a half. While the top earners income declined about 26% over that same period.
