VT does this and it looks amazing. Why aren't we doing something like this for our team? Maybe with Thunderstruck or something.

Sadly, our fans aren't nearly as engaged in the atmosphere as the fans represented in this video, especially prior the game. Many of the Herd fans are still in the parking lot when our team I entering. It would be awesome to have something like this though!

1. Start the tradition.
2. Fans embrace it.
3. It gets popular.
4. ????
5. Profit?

To get something started, the student section has to start it. Then everyone else will catch on. I'm pretty sure everyone in Lane Stadium didn't just start jumping one day. I'm sure the students did it, then everyone else joined in.

I agree... but I see this starting with a combo of the BAND ON FIELD and student section... however it has to be blasted with some ACDC Thunderstruck

I have been to a lot college football stadiums, including 3 that hold over 100,000 and after watching The Hokies come out when the Herd played there I have to say, that is the Best entrance. Enter Sandman is off the hook in that stadium and with the crowd.

You could easily time something with Thunderstruck. The live version of the song has thunder sound effects and crowd noise. If you could time it to release the team and the "smoke" right after the song hits the first, "You've been, Thunderstruck" it would be much better than what we have now.

We have a song that fits and yet we continue to butcher it.

I agree when I went to watch MU at VT i said their entrance was absolutely the best. That being said our fans can't do this because most of our fans won't do this..... we can barely get some to stand up when we make a great play. I was actually asked to sit down so someone behind me could see this past weekend and i was sitting right in front of the recruits. They were all really into the game and liked the we are chant but one of the guys asked if i wouldnt stand so much because he was having a hard time seeing. So i tried to limit it buuuut i was pretty pumped and couldnt just stay seated the whole time haha. On another note i moved to beckley last year. Blacksburg is only 1.5 hrs away and it is the military appreciation game so I'll bee in lane stadium during the day then rushing home to watch the herd that evening.

Really? Like.... Standing the whole game? Jumping up and down during "jump around", being in your seat for the start of the game and staying there throughout? What exactly does the student section do that had caught on? Because from my vantage point last year (in the student section) the folks in the chair backs were watching golf.

If you noticed, Thunderstruck was relegated to the pre-song and Jungle was the entrance song. That's last year's WVU entrance song. We need to be consistent not change it up every year. You will also notice that the cheerleaders are saying "Thunder" every time it plays in the song. I scream it, but no one around me does it. To make the entrance great, we need to scream the words "Thunder" while the 75 year-old-scoreboard/PA controller puts the word " Thunder" on the board. Simple but effective. But the AD and or IMG ( IM Going to play as many commercials as is humanely possible as loud as the system will allow and assault the ears of every fan) simply don't get it!

i was not impressed at all with our entrance this year. IMO we have gone downhill every year since 2010...

HATE THE MOTORCYCLE! Ugh. It is awful and it has a DEAD bison on it. Horrible.

The buffalo is fine. The entrance could maybe be better but is unimportant...

We have one of the top bases in G5, with a venue that is nationally respected and regarded as an extremely difficult place to play. Statistically we win more games on our home field than anybody in FBS, and we're 5 days removed from the largest gathering of herd fans, ever.

I'm not saying we should get complacent, but I think sometimes we take some things for granted.

(Student here), I'm positive that students would love to get something like this going, but it's a combination of other crowd participation and lack of leadership (or something similar in the student section). There's very few organized cheers, at least within the student section.
