That's the best part of this sight. Marshall fans irritate me sometimes. Many of them have no expectations and buy the fluff pieces by the soft Huntington press and excuses coming out the athletic dept.

That is what I appreciate about programs like Alabama, Ohio State, etc. They call it as the see it and if some coach tanked it with a 3-9 collapse of the season they would run them out on a rail. Or, at least the vast majority of the fans would be pulling out the pitch forks. They demand it.

This football season and the collapse of the MU program in one year was the worst thing I have followed in the history of teams I follow in sports. They have done nothing down in Old Main or the Athletic Dept. Now the coach is loading up on every JUCO player east of the Mississippi. That is a sure sign of desperation. We run a read option offense and recruit drop back quarterbacks that are no threat to run. We have 6 plays maybe. Our attrition rate is higher than a McDonald's store in the summer.

Old Mad Hatter Les Miles got another year and a few games into it the next season at was 2-2. They didnt like what the saw and bam, gone. No bull shitting around about it. Les had won a national title and finished runner up. Was losing ground and couldn't keep up with Saban and canned right in mid stream.

At Marshall we sit around and do nothing for 5 years most of the time. We hand out contract extensions to mediocre or poor coaches. We run off the good coaches. We even play cream puff schedules and have one conference championship to show for it in umpteen years.

I don't give up on a lot and am very loyal to sports teams but, Marshall is about to test my patience.

He won't have that myth to fall back on once Kiffen and Davis start kicking his butt in Florida recruting.

Add Charlie Strong to the list as well.. He was named HC at USF this weekend.

the spin on Kiffin at USF takes the cake. somehow kids aren't going to play for him because of what happened at USC...

and i'm sure nobody will play for Charlie or Butch because of their past failures. this is all actually GOOD news. Doc's magical recruiting of guys that don't stick around longer than a year or two is going to be better...somehow......

Herdman it's getting worse. Go read the one thread you have been active on. It will actually make you mad.

Well, some of these guys take the cake. They get too close to these coaches(or think they are close). They did the same thing with Snyder.

I have suddenly learned, through their football genius minds, that Bob Pruett was a terrible coach. And, this was one bad season.

I have already been mad. I feel like am going through a divorce or something.

I think some of these guys must be of this generation that blames someone else all the time. It is Pruetts fault because he left 13 years ago. Or it is Pruett's fault because he went and said that Doc was a bad coach. Pruett hurt Hamrick's ego. It is the players fault because they go 3-9, not the coaches.

These guys better learn than this cream puff conference is stepping up its game. Would we hire Alabama's offensive coordinator. Would we hire Butch Davis? No, we would not.

I am tired of it. I have sate for more than a decade around a damn computer screen and illegal feeds trying to watch a football game and traveled some to games to see a mess. Why would I give them one penny.

I can say with 100% certainty that no kids are going to play for Kiffin at USF.

time to try our hand at recruiting more in Va and NC since all we will get in Fl will be table scraps

IMO, without major changes, we are entering into another long era of shitty Marshall football.

We have seen this before. The endless excuses, can't afford anyone better, give it time, wait till next year, deserves a mulligan.....The language of losers and mediocrity.

The flat out incompetence shown this season was beyond even the Snyder era. Even Jack Lengeyl teams played with more heart. Completely embarrassing watching the pathetic effort and overall lack of leadership.
