Obama himself referred to it as Obamacare. The VOICE committee got some growns, even by me at first reaction. It'll probably be twisted into racism, but he did a good job turning it into a powerful moment.
The only critique I can make is he should have called it ACA instead of ObamaCare. Obama constantly criticized Bush, that's beneath the office. Don't lump it on the man, lump it on it's failures.
Calling it the affordable care act polls better than calling it ObamacareYes, but he did that bantering with the media which Obama was great at. Referring to it as ACA places blame on the entire Dem party, the target in 2018.
shame that the majority of libs don't have enough smarts to know that everything he said is good for our nation

He should have called it the Affordable Care Act & done air quotes around "Affordable".this
he needs to say "affordable" and use that big Trump emphasis like he does with "China". treat "Obama" like Voldemort. never mention his name again. just remind everybody how "affordable" the care act is.
It's sad that so many of you are trumpeting a speech that was very similar to what any other politician would have made, except this one had no substance behind it or plans on how he was going to do it.
Deplorables accept "trust me, just trust me" and claims that he knows more about ISIS than all of his generals as gospel.
His speech was a typical, average speech you get from a politician. Due to his history of atrocious comments, behavior, and illogical rants, a very basic speech is now claimed to be amazing. Why? We have dropped our standards extremely low for him, just like his approval ratings.
And there's your talking points, folks.

Yep. Libs mad...because they actually thought it would be a ranting racist bigoted speech because that's what the media told you to expect.
Please share with us an example of when a speech to Congress has ever offered "specifics" to policies?
get a load of this guy....It has nothing to do with the media and everything to do with listening to what he has said before his campaign, during his campaign, and after the election (which he is still, strangely, in campaign mode). Speaking of which, why does he send multiple emails per week begging for donations? It is unbelievable; a sitting president two months after taking office is sending emails from his official website trying to peddle merchandise and plead for donations.
Obama had at least one. But that is the point. You guys are raving about some stellar speech when it was a basic, generalized political speech that we witness many times each year. The only reason many of you think it was anything other than average is because we all have lowered expectations for trump based on his previous words, actions, and speeches.
On a related note, I can't be the only one on here who was uncomfortable with a 2:30 minute ovation focused on the widow. That was painful. Hell, the deceased's parents wouldn't even meet with trump. I guess the painfully uncomfortable ovation isn't as bad as verbally attacking the family of a fallen soldier, so again, due to what we are used to with trump, it is an improvement.

No, one month vs 8 years is NOT a fairer representation of the dow under the 2 presidents.
even a dishonest cabinet maker should be able to see the difference in a gain of 3,000 points since Trump's election (3 months) vs a gain of 8,000 points over a 6 year period.
Even an atheist should be able to see that a gain of 13,000 is greater than 3,000.

Uhhhhhh, you must be new to politics. Sitting presidents solicit for donations all the time. I even got a few solicitations from the Obummer campaign following his inauguration. He never stopped soliciting for donations. His foundation is still panhandling for $$$.
I really don't recall any specifics from any of his joint session speeches either. (You're complaining about no specifics from a Prez that's been in office for 1 month and can only remember 1 from a guy who was in office for 8 years? Probably not your best effort) Unless you're counting Obummer's usual rants on "fair share" or "you can keep your doctor and your plan", that's about as specific as you get. Frankly, there is never a reason to criticize a president for not giving a policy "specific" in a 1 hour joint session speech spanning multiple policy initiatives or changes. It's not the time and place.
I didn't really sit there with a stop watch counting the seconds during the widows acknowledgement. Appeared the whole room (except for a few pouting Dems) continued to clap unabated as well.
It has everything to do with the media, and what they decide to hyper bold. Case in point: A Tribe Called Quest (who's artistry I actually respect and enjoy) kept referring to Trump during their Grammy performance as "Agent Orange" Not a peep from the mainstream media... Can you imagine if a country artist or southern rock band had referred to Obama as "President Khaki", We would still be hearing about it 3 weeks later..
why are you giving Obama credit for the market explosion after election night? how is that fair? what policy did he put in place during that time frame to cause said market explosion?
Hope and change=MAGABecause obama was STILL THE PRESIDENT.
What policy did cheetos implement on election night?
Hope and change=MAGA
It was a good speech regardless. It's sad that so many of you are trumpeting a speech that was very similar to what any other politician would have made, except this one had no substance behind it or plans on how he was going to do it.
