Hell with them and hell with Russia. Let them duke it out if they want to. But, we don't need to be a part of the escalation and slaughter of thousands upon thousands of people and getting more involvement that risks American men and women going into the slaughter. We do not need to risk the escalation of a wider war over Ukraine and Russia continuing a thousand years of fighting over borders and ethnic peoples and who belongs to what.

Get the hell out of there and let them figure it out.

Finally, someone who knows what to do.

Here is how: (1) Impose the heaviest sanctions possible; (2) Adopt and supplement retired Admiral James Stavridis' concept of a renewed Reforger by also threatening to, and being prepared to move American and European combat soldiers into Ukraine; (3) Ensure that these troops and the Ukrainians are well-supplied and armed for conventional war, and protected by air support and defenses; and (4) Forcefully meet Putin's anticipated threat to use nuclear weapons with our own threat to do the same. This should bring a cease-fire, meaningful negotiations, and tend to Putin's demise.
Putin masks his weakness by threatening the use of nuclear weapons. So far, he has cowed three presidents with these threats. The risk that Russia would start a nuclear war is no greater than the risk that we would. China and other Russian leaders will not let Putin and his circle go that far.

What I have been saying all along. Put in a no-fly zone.

I disagree. A no-fly zone for Ukraine isn't worth the potential risk & never has been.

There is zero strategic interest in doing so.

Maybe johns just wants to know where you putin loving cowards would draw the line?

Didn't say they were. The question was:

Will you take the same attitude if he invades a NATO country?
What attitude will you take if Ukraine is wildly corrupt, their president has cut vital pipelines & blamed it on other countries to inflame tensions, launched missiles that landed in other countries & knowingly blamed it on other another country to inflame tensions, has engaged in despicable acts of conscription against his own citizens, & has made numerous questionable moves (& I do mean numerous questionable moves) to cement his power & prevent being voted out?

Hypocrisy at its very height.

Says the guy ^^^ who supports and defends his president that is an insurrectionist, cheat, pathological liar, fraudster, convicted felon, coward, and attempted to overturn the results of a free and fair election.

No matter how you feel about Ukraine, you have to admit that their drone strike on Russian airfields was pretty cool.

That's why people need to wake up. This modern stuff will hit us in the next war. That's why this war needs to stop.

Simple question. Should the US do nothing if Russia attacked a fellow NATO member? Answer Yes or No.

Don't be an idiot. You know what Question I asked.
Considering we are obligated to support nato members then yes we should do something if Russia attacked a nato member.

This new drone attack (though seemingly effective) seems to open up a new Pandora's box on warfare and doesn't give me warm-and-fuzzy feelings.

Maybe I'm being melodramatic but reading about it I was getting "crossing the Rubicon" vibes.

It does little to zero to help Ukraine on the battlefield. They likely did it to try to escalate the war and gain more support from us and whoever else. This won't remove Russia from one inch of Ukraine soil.

The unfortunate things is we have Senators and Congressmen who want to drag our young men into a war that has no bearing on the American people. Ukraine means nothing to the American people and way of life.

Thinking a no-fly zone is a good idea is irrational, offers no forethought, & will only make an already dangerous situation worse. Talk about vagina behavior…

Not a dangerous situation.

The smell of estrogen permeates this place.
