The head coach at Abilene Christian did not make $38,000. Hell, every single coach on staff made more than $38,000 (other than me, after I turned back all but $1000/month of my salary). The head coach made $175,000/year on an initial four year deal. Their head coach now? He makes $1.25 million on a five year deal (it comes out to $250,000/year). What kind of moron thinks a head FCS coach makes $38,000? Let me guess, you're using the same websites the wvu moron was using when he made those same claims against me? Go ahead and look at what those sites say Alabama's head coach makes, wvu's assistant head coach makes, etc. You're dumber than you look, which is an accomplishment in itself.
As for your comment that the Cookman head coach "did not make much" - he made $265,000 per year, not including the other perks (car, golf membership, etc.). In a state with no income tax, he was taking home about $17,000/month. How do I know that? Because he knew where I was at financially, and he talked to me a handful of times about being partners in a cigar bar with him, and we discussed numbers and what he could/couldn't do due to his child support. The lowest paid coach while I was at Cookman, now an FCS head coach, made $53,000 while there. Both coordinators and the assistant head coach had a base salary of $95,000. However, each made more than $100,000 after the bonuses. Winning the conference championship, like we did each year, resulted in a bonus of one month's salary. Beating an FBS team, like we did each year, resulted in another bonus. Finishing in the top 25, like we did each year, was yet another bonus. Making the playoffs, like we did, was yet another bonus. So those coordinators/assistant head coach were well over $100,000 factoring those bonuses in.
I didn't make "my money on a lawsuit." The entire reason I was able to coach for such low/no salaries before and after Cookman was due to the money I had already made prior to getting into coaching. That's the entire reason I started that career - with absolutely no contacts in the business, I knew it would mean starting with little to no earnings and facing that for many years. The reason I was able to do that was because of the money I had already earned, moron.
I was barely paid during two years of work while at Cookman and then wasn't paid again until 1.5 years later after they finally settled for what I demanded. How the fvck was I able to live the last three years of that time in a three bedroom/three bath condo directly on the beach, that I have no mortgage on, if I made my money from that settlement? Did I tell the bank/previous owner to let me live there with the promise that I would pay them back three years later before I even had a hint that I would need to file a lawsuit? Moron.
