Thought police strike again?

"we"? you mean the English, the French or the Spanish? thankfully, "we" took this place from the English and set up a nice constitution where all are equal.

We took this place from the native americans.

While I agree, let's not pretend this is exclusively a left issue. The right gets super offended too.

War on Christmas? Really? And when Starbucks decided to go with plain red cups instead of ones that had Santa, snowmen, and snow flakes, the right lost their minds. Colin Kaepernick decides to take a knee for the national anthem and the right suddenly decides they can't watch football anymore. I work with a hardcore right winger (military guy) who has trouble working with a female because she had children out of wedlock and has tattoos.

Whether it's a left or right issue, I see our country as a whole not wanting to step out of any kind of comfort zone and discuss differing ideas. I don't see it as a left/right issue. People need to open their minds to the possibility of being wrong. We could all learn a hell of a lot more from one another.

The only part I can disagree with is regarding Kaepernick. He's an attention seeking bitch with an identity crisis. To quote the great Michael Bolton, "Fvck him up his stupid ass."

No doubt about it. I'm a 49er fan and I'm thankful he took the route he did, because I was tired of seeing his terrible QB play. However, I don't get butt hurt over the things he says and does. If he wants to be a moron, be a moron. But the reaction from the right has been similar to the left in how they got ultra sensitive, wanted him suspended, and said they'd boycott the league as long as he was a member...which is why nobody will sign him. GMs & coaches wouldn't mind signing him, but the owners are afraid they'll lose fans & sponsors (sponsors being the key). Funny how the market works, right?

Gms and owners won't sign him because he wants a starters salary with backup, at best, stats.

Why the hell, if you're a team owner, would you want to have to deal with his attention seeking bullshit?

I though the same with Michael Sam. I couldn't care less about his orientation but it was clear from early on that it would be a media circus wherever he wound up.

Private meaning not available to the general public. It was solely for google employees to express their ideas. I'm not saying he was smart to do it and he shouldn't face consequences if he broke policy. I'm not sure he broke any policy by posting on the message board

Policy can be whatever. There are some things you just keep to yourself at work. It's always been that way, one way or the other. People on the left forget it used to be them. It wasn't too long ago you could get fired for saying segregation should end. Go to work, do your job, and STFU.
