This is stemming from the 49 year old woman who was pelted in the eye by Koepka's errant tee shot during the Ryder Cup.

Does she have an eye to stand on?

Personally, I think if you're a spectator at a golf event, you have to know the risks involved. Folks line the tee box, and fairways, so potentially getting hit by an errant shot seems to come with the territory.

I couldn't even begin to imagine a bunch of people lining the tee box in front of me when I'm about to tee off.

Read the back of the pass for any professional golf event. Guests assume all risk. All parties involved are held harmless by any ball strikes.

One of the great things about pro golf is how close you get to the action. I have went to several PGA events the 2 biggest were the Memorial tournament( before I moved to Boston I lived in Dublin, OH) and the LA Open (now the Genesis Open) played at Riviera Country Club in So Cal.

Herdbuckeye is correct you assume all risks. Many times the marshalls monitoring the tournament will also remind you to be aware. I would think it would get tossed. But since she did suffer a serious injury to her eye I think it would be a nice PR move to pay her medical expenses. I think the only thing this lawsuit has the potential to do is for “fan safety” they may move the fans back farther from the action which would suck.

I’m sure the insurance company will dangle a good will settlement out in front of her.

I've been to both the PGA & Senior PGA championships. As good and as consistent as those guys are, no way in hell I would stand anywhere within 40 yards in front of the tee box.
