rory has said he plans to stick with nike, especially balls, for awhile. apparently for the safeway open tiger is going to hit a taylormade driver, mizuno irons, and use bridgestone balls. the taylormade driver is odd to me, but the rest i get...
Actually I only question the ball......The Nike ball was designed specifically for Tiger based on his specifications. Although his current game may no longer fit that ball.
The Nike driver sucks.....So Taylormade is a no brainer.......Mizuno irons too. I assume he'll be using a Scotty putter?
Nike doesn't care about clubs anymore. It was a losing proposition. Tiger will stay with Nike apparel and shoes. He is a big face for Nike. The clubs don't matter to them. It is all about the swoosh on the clothes.
He is not going away from Nike. He is just not playing Nike clubs at some point because Nike is out of the club making business and ball business.
They don't make tennis rackets but look at the Nike stars wearing Nike in tennis. Same deal.
right, but rory has years worth of nike equipment he got them to stock up for him because he liked using it. rory is still using everything nike at the ryder cup, minus his scotty flatstick. tiger bolted almost immediately.
edit to add: so did koepka, he was hitting a taylormade driver at the ryder cup.
So what is the big deal? Nike has announced they are not going to make golf clubs anymore.
just interesting that he ditched their equipment already, all of it, and is basically coming back on tour and trying out random other equipment.

Sorta related since you mentioned PXG equipment... I looked into PXG as I am thinking of updating my Ping equipment.
You have to fly to Arizona for at least 3 days, go through all kinds of testing, have playing sessions... Cost for the grand version.. $25,000.. Least cost for a shorter visit is $7,000.. Obviously I went with the Pings.
Supposedly PGX is some top people from Ping that broke away and started this company
Its not the club you're swingin its who's swingin the club.
I just bought a titlelist 3 hybrid that was in demo bag at Dicks.I bought it right before playing a round. It was regularly $250 but I got it for $125. You couldn't tell it had been hit. I bought a dozen golf balls with it. When I got to the course I glanced at my receipt and I noticed I was only charged for the balls. I thought maybe they rang it up separate because it was demo and didn't give me receipt. So I waited a few days and checked my account to see if it hit. Nope...was only charged for the balls. Against the advice of a few friends I took it back and explained what happened and paid for it. Given the fact that I rolled the ball both times I used it I probably should of just stuck it back with the demos.
Not trying to be a know-it-all or jerk.......But remember, it's hybrid not a fairway wood. Play it just like an iron......
Try moving the ball back in your stance....You'll even want to take a small divot with the hybrid.
Titleist makes great clubs but they're not the most forgiving....I have the Titleist 4 Hybrid.
Kudos to you for going back to pay!
Thanks for the advice. One of the guys I play with is a decent golfer (shoots mid to high 70s) and he told me the exact same thing. The problem with the Huntington area for golfing is the total lack of a decent driving range. It is just tough to find a place to practice. Esquire tells you just to go down and hit your own balls. Really? Why not lease the driving range to someone to run. Then they'd at least be making something off of it without any additional expenses. It's not like they couldn't use the revenue.
ugh, esquire. with it's layout and length it could rival sugarwood as the best course around, but they just don't put forth the effort anymore...at all.
