Elmore was ridiculous in this game... he looked like Steve Nash (what 3pt line) meshed with Larry Bird (low post in 2nd half was STUPID). As good as he was, we looked even worse than expected on defense. I know it is August in the Bahamas, not the NCAA Tourney in March, but giving up 98 points to those scabs is inexcusable. Watching dudes bounce off of Bennett for the next few years is going to be fun... that little point guard's chiclets are distributed all over that gymnasium!
The win over UNC was in 2014. Many of us made that mistake and didn't see the date
.....I don't think defense was the main focus! Glad they are having a fun experience. There is plenty of Senior leadership on this squad - not worried about them locking in once October rolls around.

Well... that's one way of looking at things. The data supports his way of thinking... a win is a win is a win. I've never seen a team that scored more points hang an an L in the loss column.
Yeah, I think if you are looking for tenacious full court defense the entire game, trying to keep the other team from scoring 60 points, then look beyond Marshall....& I love it!! When I met Johnny Buckets a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned the UVa game on New Year's eve. He said "They're gonna have to score some points!" Go Herd!!!
MU will beat UVA. Bennett’s style allows teams to hang around, the students are gone, Marshall is just better in my opinion.

I can't wait to see the CUSA race this year. IMO, it will be one of the best in college basketball. Marshall, WKU, and ODU look great on paper. Best wishes. What starts in the Bahamas can end on a basketball court in a football stadium with millions watching across the country. Access makes college basketball my favorite sport. I just hope the selection committee recognizes CUSA as a multi-bid league in 2018-19. Can't wait to get to Huntington with my brother to see the Herd play this fall/winter.

I certainly plan on making that trip. Should be a great game. Then 3 days later back to Virginia for ODU. That will be a very tough contest. If any can make it there you should go, ODU has far and away the best venue in CUSA.
