The Thundering Herd suffered a hangover after their upset win over Notre Dame in their previous game. Expect them to bounce back with a better performance on Saturday. We have the sixth-best rushing game in the country and they haven’t had any trouble running the ball against any team so far. The Trojans aren’t very good defensively and they have one of the worst run defenses in the country, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down Marshall’s offense in this game. Even if they manage to prevent the Herd from running the ball efficiently, they are also capable of beating opponents through the air and will pick apart Troy’s secondary, which has also given up a lot of yards. The Trojans have of the worst running games in the country, which is why they rely heavily on their passing game. With the Thundering Herd run defense unlikely to be tested, they will focus on preventing the Trojans from beating them through the air and will apply a lot of pressure on Watson and force him to make mistakes. The junior already has four interceptions in three games and is facing a defense that is averaging 1.5 interceptions per game, so expect the Thundering Herd to dominate Troy’s offense and pick up the win.
