President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.

The meeting was also attended by his campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Manafort and Mr. Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.

The meeting — at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016, two weeks after Donald J. Trump clinched the Republican nomination — points to the central question in federal investigations of the Kremlin’s meddling in the presidential election: whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. The accounts of the meeting represent the first public indication that at least some in the campaign were willing to accept Russian help.

JR.'S STORY CHANGED FROM YESTERDAY TO TODAY.

When he was first asked about the meeting on Saturday, Donald Trump Jr. said only that it was primarily about adoptions and mentioned nothing about Mrs. Clinton.

But on Sunday, presented with The Times’s findings, he offered a new account. In a statement, he said ....individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered.

PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EXECUTED IN THIS COUNTRY FOR CHANGING
THEIR STORY.

The meeting suggests that some Trump aides were in the market to collect negative information that could be used against Clinton — at the same time that U.S. government officials have concluded Russians were collecting such data.

From now on, just derail every thread dtard creates.

Perhaps ITT we can discuss. Fish oils. I have taken them for years and they do help, primarily with keeping my triglycerides in check. I'm trying a new product (new to me anyways) called Vascepa. It's straight EPA, rather than the mix of EPA/DHA and then the hodge-podge of other fatty acids found in traditional fish oils.

American intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian hackers and propagandists worked to tip the election toward Donald J. Trump, in part by stealing and then providing to WikiLeaks internal Democratic Party and Clinton campaign emails that were embarrassing to Mrs. Clinton. WikiLeaks began releasing the material on July 22.

SO A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE MEETING WIKI BEGAN ITS DUMPS
TO HURT CLINTON.

Honestly oppo research what's the big deal. It's not like the trump dossier didn't come from the Russians.

For the record optically this looks terrible but legally there isn't much if anything in this story. Just one more "smoking gun".

Finally, a thread of dherd's that actually has some use. Is there any bad aftertaste with Vascepa - & are you taking any sort of anti-inflammatory with it?

I don't like that Vascepa doesn't contain any DHA, as it is beneficial as well, but that Rx product is marketed heavily as an adjunct therapy for lowering triglycerides. According to their research, too much DHA (the ratios of EPA:DHA cannot be controlled in standard fish oil capsules which is how their product differs) can cause your HDL to actually lower. This stands to reason for me, as I've always struggled to get my HDL up, even when I was running 2-3 miles daily, mixed with weightlifting and high fiber diet + fish oils. I'm anxious to see what my next set of labs will reveal after taking Vascepa for about 6 months.

EPA should have a strong anti-inflammatory response alone, but DHA again would also be beneficial in this regard. Remember, if homocysteine levels are problematic, then folic acid can assist in lowering that inflammatory marker. I still mix in 2 standard fish oil capsules daily, along with the 4g of EPA which I receive from the Vascepa.

Prior to starting Vascepa, my labs were: Total Chol: 165, triglycerides: 75, but my HDL was only 44. Also note that I was taking about 8 fish oil capsules daily in order to get those kinds of results. Most research involves much higher amounts of fish oil consumption than what people are willing to consume.

Oh, and little to no aftertaste

“This was an effort to get opposition research on an opponent in an American political campaign from the Russians, who were known to be engaged in spying inside the United States,” Richard Painter said Sunday on MSNBC.

“We do not get our opposition research from spies, we do not collaborate with Russian spies, unless we want to be accused of treason.”

If this story is true, we’d have one of them if not both of them in custody by now, and we’d be asking them a lot of questions,” he said. “This is unacceptable. This borders on treason, if it is not itself treason.”

He should be impeached any day now LOL

Dtards "story" already being laughed out of the news cycle

How many of these do idiot liberals fall for? Stupid people just feed the fake news machine

8?! I get a nasty aftertaste from just taking 2.

Here we go again. Give it a few more days and the story will dry up.

To put this June 9, 2016 meeting into perspective, here’s a handy timeline of what happened before and after the meeting:
  • June 7: The 2016 primary season essentially concludes, with both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as the presumptive party nominees
  • June 9: Donald Trump Jr. — along with Jared Kushner and former campaign chair Paul Manafort — meets with Kremlin-connected lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.
  • June 9: Trump tweets about Clinton’s missing 33,000 emails
  • July 18: Washington Post reports, on the first day of the GOP convention, that the Trump campaign changed the Republican platform to ensure that it didn’t call for giving weapons to Ukraine to fight Russian and rebel forces
  • July 21: GOP convention concludes with Trump giving his speech accepting the Republican nomination
  • July 22: WikiLeaks releases stolen emails from the Democratic National Committee
  • July 25: Democratic convention begins
  • July 27: In final news conference of his 2016 campaign, Trump asks Russia: “If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”
  • August 4: Obama CIA Director John Brennan confronts his Russian counterpart about Russia’s interference. “ told him if you go down this road, it's going to have serious consequences, not only for the bilateral relationship, but for our ability to work with Russia on any issue, because it is an assault on our democracy,” Brennan said on “Meet the Press” yesterday.
[*]October 4: WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange says his organization will publish emails related to the 2016 campaign
[*]October 7: Department of Homeland Security and the Director of National Intelligence release a statement directly saying that Russia is interfering in the 2016 election
[*]October 7: WikiLeaks begins releasing Clinton Campaign Chair John Podesta’s emails
[*]October 31: “This WikiLeaks is like a treasure trove,” Trump says on the campaign trail
[*]November 4: “Boy, I love reading those WikiLeaks,” Trump says from Ohio.

Bottom line: This timeline of what now know is *circumstantial* evidence itself of some kind of relationship that the Trump campaign had with Russian sources. The question: What else is out there? Is this just the tip of the iceberg?

If the controversy over the firing of James Comey, the F.B.I. director, has done anything, it has confirmed my decision on Nov. 9 to leave the Republican Party after a lifetime as a loyal member.
The Republican Party was once the party of small government, free trade, traditional values, principled foreign policy leadership and, most important of all, adherence to the Constitution.
And then, the party sold its soul to the soulless charlatan who now occupies the Oval Office and makes a mockery of every one of the party’s principles.
If this Republican stonewall holds, Mr. Trump may get away with the most egregious abuse of presidential power since Richard Nixon’s Saturday Night Massacre in 1973. In those days, too, most Republicans reflexively rushed to the president’s defense. But not all.
Are there even three principled Republicans left who will put their devotion to the Republic above their fealty to the Republican Party?

I fear the answer to that question.

Cool story from May. Welcome to July. With that said, any old predictions you would like to repost pre Hillary loss 2.0?

WASHINGTON — Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email.

JR's explanations:
1. I have never EVER met w/ ANY RUSSIAN 100%.
2. it was about adoption of russian children
3 the next day after confronted by the times they had proof it was
getting dirt on clinton. he admitted that was the reason
4.the next day i did not know who i was meeting
the next day times has information he got an email before
the meeting saying who the meeting was with and that
she would give the campaign information provided by
THE RUSSIAN GOVT.
