Good win today for you anti-Americans who supposedly get upset over how bad the middle class has it, but applaud when the middle class takes a hit to their retirement plans.

I wouldn't say this is a win, but alot of folks like to take every opportunity to throw jabs at Trump. Many deservedly so. Trump has based alot of his success by how the stock markets are doing. What is it... Something like only 50% of Americans have money invested in the stock market. How many that don't are Trump supporters? I'd wager that many of them probably don't give two flying f ucks what the markets are doing.

All I'm saying is basing alot of your presidential success on the stock market is a slippery slope. The non elites don't care.

Anyone with a 401k, IRA, annuities or even a pension has $$$ tied to the market.

There's plenty of info out there about this...

"The survey asks U.S. adults whether they personally or jointly have money invested in the stock market, including in individual stocks and stock market funds such as 401(k)s and individual retirement accounts (IRAs).

Before the 2008 financial crisis, 62% of U.S. adults, on average, said they owned stocks. Since then, the average has been 54%, including lows of 52% in 2013 and 2016. In Gallup's April 2017 update, 54% of Americans report having money invested in stocks."

Why not ask about annuities, pensions, etc? For crying out loud, even money market funds (aka cash) can be tied (invested due to leverage) to the stock market performance. Most Americans intentionally remain ignorant about where their money is and what it's doing.

Why? Because its easier to blame someone else for their lack of knowledge, understanding, or financial performance. These poll numbers seem to prove it.

Or it could be that maybe they were telling the truth and don't actually own any sort of investments, not that they are uninformed. Hell the majority of Americans don't even have $500 in savings for an emergency. Not everyone is as fortunate as you.

I’m not suggesting the respondents are being intentionally dishonest in their answer to that specific question. Simply stating the question asked is incredibly narrow when considering the breadth of how money (regardless of the amount one has) exists and flows throughout Markets.

- Updated at 4:12 p.m. ET. The stock market went on a wild ride again on Monday, with the Dow Jones industrial average closing down 1,175 points, it's worst point drop in history. The Dow closed down 4.6 percent and turned negative for the year. At one point Monday afternoon, the Dow was down 1,579 ...
