The popular word among govt employees is “furcation”. The threatened furlough is nothing more than a paid vacation, I know several folks who cheer these budget gridlocks.

Yep they should never be paid or back paid for the time the government is shutdown. That’s part of the problem.
So hard working Americans, dedicated to their jobs and who want to work, who are told to stay home because a bunch of idiot politicians (in this case, only the POTUS is to blame) are playing games with politics shouldn’t be paid?

Absolutely not, you don’t get paid in the private sector if you have a plant shutdown or something of that nature. Being a government employee should not guarantee you a paycheck if you don’t have to go to work for a month. Absolutely not. No way. Maybe it will make government employees smarter about who they vote for.
Nobody should go without their wages if the employer simply doesn't show up to write the check.
They get paid, they always have and they always will. Congress realizes that a shutdown is their screwup, not the federal employees’ screwup, it’s essentially a breach of contract and back pay is authorized.
No way in the world they should be paid. Usually there is someone to blame in the private sector too when people lose their jobs. If your a government employee you should have your own rainy day fund or apply for unemployment if you are furloughed. It’s absolutely ridiculous one of the greatest fleecing of America moments.
"Hey employees, the CEO of our company is having a disagreement with the rest of our management about putting a door on the break room. We can't agree on this matter so we've decided to shut down production for an unspecified time and therefore no one will be in the office to write your checks. Fortunately, we the management will continue to get paid regardless. See ya whenever. Thanks!"

I live in a right to work to state with at will employment. I guess they could do that if they wanted. But, you analogy is stupid. Most companies are in it to make money. The govt is not.
So, yehh whatever.
You think the analogy is stupid because it unveils the stupidity of cheetos and for no other reason. If you want the wall, MAKE MEXICO PAY FOR IT.
Problem is, many federal employees are deemed "essential," so they go right on working the same hours as usual, but not getting paid for it. Even though they get backpay, their mortgages, insurance, and car payments don't just get put on "hold" until the politicians get their sh*t straight.
