He must be pretty good. Too many reports coming in that is pretty legit as a golfer. Lots of PGA guys lining up to play with the POTUS.

The Funk family reports he is pretty good and Trump shot an even par on the front 9 with the Funks.

"He actually played well. I was very surprised," the younger Funk told CNN. "He shot even par on the front and played decent on the back, too. He's definitely a lot better than I thought he was going to be."

Cheetos, moron, liar, cheater, son and son in law under scrutiny in russia investigation, daughter has sweat shop in foreign country, idolized by morons.

Rick Reilly's Who's Your Caddy is a really good read.

It's probably 15 years old now. There was a chapter in there where he caddied for Trump I believe and it was pretty interesting. I recall him saying he was a pretty good golfer...obviously over the top about how his course(s) were the "best in the world" or whatever, but some really interesting chapters in there ranging from big time gamblers who create their own rules on the links to caddying for legit PGA guys at legit tour stops.

How could the fat fvck not be a great golfer? He owns golf courses all over. Has spent 80+ days on the course while in office.

Golf is one of those sports you have to play a lot to be any good at. I get frustrated because I can't break 80 and I'm just as apt to shoot a 95 as an 85, but when you consider I only play once per week in the summer...well...there you go. That and I'm not very talented.

And Trump certainly is a good golfer, especially considering he isn't the greatest physical specimen. But he also embellishes and takes liberties as well. Which is stupid because his scores are just fine without doing so.

You don't have to be physically fit, in order to play well, although it probably wouldn't hurt to be fit.

Agreed. But those guys weren't 71 when they were competing with the best.

LMAO!

You obviously have never played golf in your life. I'm guessing your "physique" matches trump's too.

Anyone who has ever played knows by watching his swing that he absolutely sucks.

Pathetic that you defend his golf game. Typical trump supporter; they would believe anything.

I’m not sure what your criteria of “sucks” is, but Trump is a decent golfer. Only around 5% of golfers break 80. Even with the fact that Trump has a reputation of taking liberties/dishonesty on the golf course, there are enough witnesses that can verify that he shoots in the 70s fairly consistently. Not many golfer do that. Is he on the level of a pro? Not even close. But only a fraction of 1% are on that level.

I get the whole Trump hating thing, I really do. The guy says and does plenty of stupid stuff. But it seems to me you’d be a lot more credible in your anti trump mantra if you were more honest with yourself when blasting him. Let me help you...ideological driven Trump hatred doesn’t equate to a person being wrong/terrible/stupid in every single item brought up. It’s okay believe he’s a decent golfer and still hate his politics.

You obviously can't be honest with yourself or anyone else for that matter when you think this swing results in him shooting in the 70s. He would be lucky to shoot in the 90s. Unfortunately, your comments show your stupidity. Sorry, no offense, just calling it how I see it.

That swing is pretty good. You dont know shit. Funk just said trump shot even on the front 9

Do you even realize he practice swung a little chip shot but actually punched the ball? He has a horrible swing with all kinds of flaws. He claims to have shot a 66 too. I guess you believe that.

You realize he can't spell "unpresidented, tapp and council?" You realize he claims to have had the biggest inauguration in history? You realize he claims to have had the biggest presidential win since Reagan? You realize he just today claimed to have the safest airline year in history when there were no fatalities dating all the way back to 2009? You realize he claims to have signed more EOs than any other president in history?

You typify everything I think about typical trump supporters. LMAO!

Good job Puss.

I bet I’ve read a couple dozen articles from sport’s illustrated to the Washington Post with interviews from dozens of professional golfers who have played golf with Trump. I was curious when this came up the last time on the board what kind of golfer Trump was. My instinct going in was that DT’s golf reputation was modeled more after a certain North Korean dictator than after Tiger Woods. Not being a DT fan, I obviously looked into it hoping to validate he was a hacker that built his image around lies.

What I discovered was that yes...he took liberties, gimmes, and mulligans. His reported handicap of 2.8 was a result of smoke and mirrors and selective cherry picking of scores. But almost anyone that played with him...from Ernie Els, Tiger Woods, to whoever, said the same thing. That his likely handicap was in the 7-8 range. He isn’t long off the tee (230 yards approximately), but he rarely gets into trouble. He seldom hits the ball into bad spots. He is average around the greens but serviceable. If he played straight up and honestly he’d likely be shooting mid to high 70s.

And remember...this ain’t Sugarwood he’s playing either. These are legit high slope courses. So Countryroads...I won’t play your name calling, idiot slinging game. That’s not my style. But I will say this....there’s a lot of people on this board who are extremely dishonest and blinded by their need to see the world in a rigid ideological way. You definitely fall in that category. You just might be the bigliest at it on the entire board. I mean...just ask anyone. Sad.

Story time. I was at The Memorial Tournament some years back and we were behind the tee box on the ropes when Craig Stadler was teeing off. The shot looked good to me. Looked like it was on the edge of the fairway or maybe the short first cut at worst. Stadler didn’t care for it though. After he watches it land he walks to the back of the tee box where there was a trash can with all the paper cups from the water cooler. He just tosses his driver in the trash can and turns and quietly walks up the fairway. My buddy and I kind of look at each other as if to say...if he don’t want it than we sure do. Lol. But his caddie without expressing an ounce of emotion just quietly walks back to the trash can, pulls out the club, and puts the cover on it and returns it to the bag. Never smiled or showed emotion of any kind. He’s obviously done that before.

That's cute, playing the "I pretend to be open minded and objectionable" card while being as big a homer as many of the other posters.

As for the name calling, yeah, you started it by accusing me of being dishonest. I've seen enough golf swings in my day to know that liar isn't shooting in the 70s. Sorry if that offends you, that I'm not dumb enough to fall for his lies like many of the other posters on this board.

My golf story.

When I lived in Floyd Knobs, IN. I got to know Fuzzy a little bit and played with him a few times. As many know, he kind of took on a mentor role with John Daily trying to straighten him out because he knew how good John could be. Anyway, Fuzzy had a charity deal every year at his course and John would come play. During that event one year John was downing one of his two dozen Diet Cokes getting ready to tee off. He said something like "I don't feel like getting a tee." He set his coke can down, put a ball on top of it, and proceeded to hit it about 250 yards down the middle...with his putter.

Oh, and Fuzzy wouldn't play if there wasn't money involved. He would let you determine the handicap, but you were playing for money. I'm not a great, or even really a good, golfer. He would play the gold tees and I would play white and get a stroke per hole. He talked more chit than anyone I ever met. Would watch you line up a putt and then just start mumbling. You would ask what the problem was and he would tell you that you were lined up two inches this way or that way off line. You'd look at it again and say I don't think so and he'd be yeah, what do I know? I just designed the course. How many career wins and majors do you have? He's a funny guy.

You used to live here?

Fuzzy and my uncles were good friends. One of my uncles was a better golfer than Fuzzy when they were young, but Fuzzy got a backer to pay his way and my uncle was just poor white trash. He became an antiques dealer and a, um, large scale pot grower.

Anyway, last time I saw Fuzzy was about four years ago, the day after Thanksgiving, at Long John Silver's, of all places. Figuring LJS was a little down-class for Fuzzy (shit, shouldn't he at least go to Kingfish?) I asked him what he was doing there. He said, "Same as you, I'm tired of fvcking turkey." Funny guy, indeed.

Straighten out Daly? You ever seen Fuzzy drink? I guess "straighten out" means "moderation, maybe".

He was drunk when he made the "fried chicken and collard greens" comments after the 97 Masters (I think it was 97) when Tiger got to choose the banquet fare. It cost him his endorsement with...and you can't make this up...Kmart. lol. It was fried chicken comments that landed Sergio in trouble as well.
